Now Is A Good Time To Buy A C-Class In China

Some Mercedes dealers in China are reportedly slashing prices on their C-Class inventories in order to keep sales going. This is in reaction to the moves by Chinese authorities to decongest its major cities and tighten lending controls. Coupled with a slowdown in growth, the top luxury carmakers in China, meaning the top three German automakers, are resorting to deep discounts to keep their sales momentum going. BMW has reportedly offered a 19% discount on some 3-series models and some Mercedes-Benz dealers have countered with a 20% discount on C-Class models. Daimler’s Joint Venture with Foton Got a Yes from Chinese Authorities

Beijing Foton Daimler Automotive Co., Ltd. Has got an approval from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce. This go ahead is an important step in the implementation of Daimler Trucks Global Excellence strategy and also this will allow them participation in the increase and growth of the Chinese truck market. Ducati-AMG Experience Held In Beijing Racetrack

Resulting from the Ducati-AMG agreement inked last year, the Goldenport International Circuit in Beijing was one of the venues where a combined AMG and Ducati Driving /Riding Experience was recently held. Using Ducati’s latest model Diavel, Gianluca Lozzi of the Go Pro Riding School toured several media riders on laps of the circuit, using other Ducati motorbikes such as the Hypermotard 796, Monster 796, Streefighter and Diavel. On display only were Ducati’s superstar bikes, such as the Diavel Carbon, Superbike 1198 SP and Multistrada 1200 S Touring. Daimler’s 5th Design Studio Opened in Beijing

The 5th Mercedes- Benz Advanced Design Studio opened in Beijing, this is shortly after the new joint venture with Beijing Benz Automotive Co. Ltd. The opening was attended by Steffen Koehl, Director of Global Advanced Design Mercedes-Benz, Professor Olivier Boulay, VP of Advanced Design Center in China and Ulrich Walker, chairman and CEO of Daimler North East Asia. China’s Mercedes-Benz GLK in 3.0L V6 Engine

In a report about the joint venture with Beijing Benz Automotive Co, Ltd., it was revealed that the GLK SUV will be locally produced in China. Currently, words are spreading that the vehicle will be equipped with a 3.0L V6 engine for the top end model. This is in line with Mercedes-Benz’ goal of pushing the brand from this year until 2012 to be at par with the fast-paced Audi. Daimler and BAIC Ink New Joint Venture

Daimler has announced a joint venture company to be named Beijing Benz Automotive Co, Ltd. (BBAC). Together with its Chinese partner Beijing Automotive Industry Corporation, about 2 billion euros will be invested in the new joint venture. The agreement covers local production for the Chinese market of the the GLK SUV and three models of the upcoming generation of Mercedes-Benz compact cars. Meanwhile, production capacities for the capacities for the C- and E-Class will be expanded from the current 80,000 units, depending on demand.
