CLS63 AMG Gets Uprgaded Power And 4Matic Variant

In line with the announcement from Mercedes-Benz about the 2014 E63 AMG, Mercedes also announced that it is carrying over the same powertrain improvements to its svelte four-door coupe, the CLS63 AMG. The most significant of these changes is the appearance of the 4Matic all-wheel drive system coupled to AMG’s 7-speed Speedshift transmission. And while 557 horsepower is nothing to scoff at, Mercedes’ introduction of the S-Model variants means that even more factory power is available from the twin turbo 5.5-liter V8. MKB Gives CLS 63 AMG A Terminal Velocity Of 340 Km/H

Feel that your CLS63 AMG is too portly to give those BMW M5s the spanking they deserve? Tuning firm MKB has the package that ought to cure those blues. Using as its base the 5.5 liter twin turbocharged V8 that already belts out around 560 horsepower, MKB works its tuning magic to give AMG’s workhorse an additional 140 horsepower, to give the CLS 63 AMG an output of 700 horsepower.  Torque output gets a similar hefty increase, from 590 lb-ft to almost 740 lb-ft.  With these kinds of figures, it’s not surprising that the four-door coupe sprints to 62 mph in 4.1 seconds. New AMG Models Launched in Bahrain

Al Haddad Motors, the official dealer of Mercedes-Benz cars in Bahrain, revealed yesterday the latest AMG models to hit the country according to Gulf Daily News. The unveiling was exclusively held at the Ritz-Carlton Bahrain Hotel and Spa. The event was graced by VIPs and Mercedes-Benz top executives. The models that were featured are the CLS63, C63 Coupe, C63 AMG Sedan, SLK 55, ML63 and SLS which encompasses the whole AMG range. CLS Shooting Brake Is Launched In Australia

Long seen online but now finally available in the flesh, well-heeled Australians finally have a chance to bring home the CLS shooting brake. Recently launched down under, the CLS shooting brake will be available in both gas and diesel versions. As a CLS350, the slope-backed shooting brake will have for its engine a 3.5 liter V6 belting out 225 kW, or 301 horsepower to you Imperials. Just as interesting, and definitely more frugal, is the CLS250 CDI. This turbocharged four has an output of 150 kW and almost 370 lb ft. of torque. Tuner CK63 RS Coaxes 640 Hp From Twin Turbo V8

Slowing its rise only when it reaches 260 kilometers per hour, this Carlsson-tuned CLS 63 AMG shows the potential of Mercedes’ a tuned twin turbo V8. Known as the type M157, this engine is a refinement by AMG of what  was originally the M278 engine developed for the S-Class. After extensive modification by AMG, this engine got the M157 designation.
