Mitsubishi Fuso Marks 75th Anniversary of Fuso Brand Name

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) today announced the official 75th anniversary of the Fuso brand name. Three-quarters of a century ago, the Fuso name was first applied to a bus built at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries’ Kobe Shipyard and Machine Works. Today, the Fuso name is renowned in Asia and around the world, while MFTBC itself is part of the DaimlerChrysler Truck Group, the world’s largest commercial truck manufacturer.

The world’s oldest original car

The Benz Patent Motor Car is considered to be the world’s first automobile. One specimen of 1888 which is retained in its original condition now comes to Germany: The Automuseum Dr. Carl Benz in Ladenburg will host the oldest original automobile in the world. It is a loan of the Science Museum, London. The return to England is planned for November 2008. Carl Benz introduced the Patent Motor Car in 1886 and subsequently built several units of this three-wheeler, about 25 vehicles in total. The Model I was the original Patent Motor Car. It featured wire wheels and a number of design details adopted from advanced contemporary bicycle manufacture.

Some Hip Hop artist has shown interest in having the concept car in one of their videos, similar to what Jay-Z did with the Exelero.

Canadian Army trusts heavily armoured Mercedes-Benz trucks

The Canadian Defence Ministry has ordered 82 Mercedes-Benz Actros transport trucks, with an option for another 26 units of the same model. The four-axle all-wheel-drive chassis from the Mercedes-Benz Actros model series are fitted with a specially armoured cab that helps to provide an exceptionally high level of protection for the Canadian soldiers from mines, hostile fire and roadside bombs during their UN peacekeeping missions. The “Armoured Heavy Actros” trucks come in numerous body variants and are ideally suited to a wide range of applications in unstable crisis areas.
