More (correct) details about the C63 AMG

I knew it was too good to be true. Our “insider” is reporting that the C-Class will not have the reported 500hp, but a bit less – 450hp. By so many horses, the 50 shouldn’t make a big difference, but it would have been nice to have the extra power. The interesting and logical reason for having less than 500hp is that they don’t want the C-Class to have more power than the E63 AMG. Every E-Class owner would probably be complaining that they paid $20k more and are slower than a C-Class driver. Mercedes C-Class 63 AMG to get 500hp

Auto Motor und Sport is reporting that the Mercedes engineers are working on a 500hp C-class, which will set to compete against the upcoming M3 and the Audi RS4. They are also saying that the AMG version will get the typical AMG styling in the front, rear and side; as well as 19in alloy wheels. The engine will be a V8 that will be able to let out its rour with 4 exhaust pipes. This description sounds amazing, if it will look anything like the picture above, then Mercedes has certainly created a contender if not a winner.

Mercedes C-Class Estate SPY VIDEO

WorldCarFans have released a very interesting video showing the upcoming C-Class wagon (estate) on a test drive. It is still covered up, as if we don’t already know how it will look like. Let’s see if the estate will look cool like the Audi A4 Avant does, but if we look at the new C-Class mode, we know they will be able to pull it off.

AutoExpress reviews the CL600

This is not a double post, AutoExpress reviewed the CL as well, but they did it better, they got themselves the CL600. While there isn’t much difference between the two (550 vs. 600) in the interior or exterior, the engines are certainly different; the 550 has a V8 and the 600 has enormous V12. Similar to the Edmunds review, the guys over at AutoExpress had positive things about the CL, and especially this quote shows it. There is no doubt this Mercedes is enormously expensive – but it’s one of the most capable cars on the planet. Read the review at AutoExpress

Edmunds reviews the CL 550

Edmunds has taken the time and reviewed the new CL550, and has nothing but positive things to say about the gorgeous CL. While it was hard for Mercedes to out do themselves with the new model, they actually did it, and the CL and the many positive reviews are the proof. Here is a great quote that sums the review up. Most of our time in the CL was spent on roads that rarely complemented its size or intent, yet we still had a hard time finding anything wrong with the big coupe. Mercedes-Benz to offer more SIRIUS Satellite Radio

Mercedes Benz and SIRIUS Satellite Radi today announced that Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) plans to significantly increase the rate at which they install SIRIUS radios in Mercedes-Benz vehicles to more than 80 percent for 2007, with plans to continue building to 90 percent for 2008 and over 90 percent by 2009. The growth in the installation rate far exceeds earlier estimates of 50 percent that were set less than two years ago. The luxury automaker also plans to offer SIRIUS as standard equipment on two additional models this year the S-Class and CLS.
