Mercedes-Benz Vans at the Aïcha des Gazelles 2016 rally

Mercedes-Benz Vans has sent four teams to the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles 2016 in Morocco, the world’s only off-road event exclusive to women. A total of 160 teams have entered for this year’s rally, which will last 10 days in Southern Morocco’s deserts. Each team, as in your standard rallies, is made up of two individuals. Since starting production of the Sprinter Classic in September of 2013, the Mercedes-Benz Vans / GAZ plant in Nischni Nowgorod, Russia has now produced a total of 10,000 units of the company’s strong-performing multi-purpose van. The milestone comes off the heels of a record 6,600 units ssold in the country by Mercedes-Benz, cementing the Sprinter Classic’s status as the most popular Mercedes-Benz van in Russia and showing just how key the model line is for the company’s success in the country. Daimler achieves record sales in Q1 2015

Daimler AG continues to roll, having achieved record sales, revenue, and EBIT during the first quarter of 2015, propelled of course by Mercedes-Benz Cars. This is thanks in large part to unit sales growing by 13 percent compared to the same period in 2014, contributing to a 16 percent growth in revenue to some €34 billion (around $37 billion). Mercedes-Benz Cars unit sales in Q1 grew 18 percent, with a nice round total of 459,700. In terms of unit sales, Q1 2015 now holds the record for best quarter in Mercedes history. A Daimler executive revealed that the official model name of the Mercedes-Benz pickup truck will be the GLT. The information was provided by none other than the head of the Mercedes-Benz Vans division, Volker Mornhinweg, to Car Magazine. UPS to upgrade to Mercedes-Benz Sprinter delivery vans

UPS will soon be adding the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter to its fleet of delivery vans, an upgrade from the recently discontinued Mercedes-Benz Vario line of heavy commercial vans. To be more specific, UPS has ordered the new Sprinter 513 BlueTec model to replace the Vario. The 127 horsepower van is the result of development that was made together between Mercedes-Benz, UPS, and Spier the body manufacturer. This way, the parcel service gets a delivery van that can specifically fill its needs. First and foremost, this new Sprinter features a high loading capacity that’s perfect for delivery of packages handled by UPS on a daily basis. The YouTube channel of Mercedes-Benz Vans uploaded a new ad for the Vito last October 2. The title of the video was “Dirty Driving”. If you think that the Mario Kart 8-themed ad of the Mercedes-Benz GLA was hideous enough, this ad would probably top it off in terms of weirdness. While I had so much respect and admiration to the marketing division of the three-pointed star brand for bringing up awesome ads, this is just another proof that they are only human and they can also have their epic-fail moments.
