Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series Attempts to Break Its Own Record in the ‘Ring

In November 2020, the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series officially became the fastest production car on the Nurburgring Nordschleife with a time of 6:48.047 for the whole course, and 6:43.616 on its old 12.8-mile stretch. Recently, another attempt was made by the same car but with a different driver to break the record. Before the latest record attempt of the current Black Series, it was eclipsed by the Porsche 911 GT2 RS last month with a new record of 6:43.300 for a street-legal car on the 12.9-mile layout of the ‘Ring, which was quicker than the sports car’s best time. Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series Up For Sale By Hemmings

The Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series may already be more than a decade old, but its appeal does not appear to age. Even now, it never fails to impress. Only 350 units of the car were made from 2008 to 2011, and 175 of them were shipped to the U.S. One of them is now up for sale by Hemmings in Miami, Florida. Recently, a reader emailed to us some spy shots and a clip of what appears to be a partially camouflaged Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series. So, why is the model partly covered when the three-pointed star marque has already unveiled it earlier? The low-resolution video and spy photos were emailed to us by Moritz Rossmanith. He claimed that they were taken at the runway of Biberach Airport in Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany. However, he didn’t mention additional details about the subject of the photos and video. After the numerous sighting of the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series last year, it seems like the car is finally making its debut this 2020. The auto was initially rumored to be unveiled at the end of the year but a new report suggests that it might come sooner than expected. Mercedes-AMG GT R Black Series Confirmed by Tobias Moers

The Mercedes-AMG GT R Pro was just revealed at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The car is a more powerful version of the AMG GT R with a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine beneath its hood. It’s capable of delivering 577 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque between 1,900 rpm and 5,500 rpm. The car is so fast that it finished a lap on the Nurburgring track in just 7:04.662.
