Mercedes-Benz Reaches 50-Millionth Production Milestone

Mercedes-Benz is celebrating another milestone this February as it just rolled out its 50-millionth passenger car from its production line. The unit that hit the mark happened to be a Mercedes-Maybach S-Class that was produced from the company’s Factory 56 at its Sindelfingen plant in Germany. Facelifted Mercedes-AMG GT Production Starts in Sindelfingen

After the dramatic launching of the facelifted Mercedes-AMG GT, Mercedes-Benz finally greenlights its production at the company’s Sindelfingen plant in Germany. The new AMG GT is now produced alongside the Mercedes-Benz S-Class , E-Class, CLS, GLA and Mercedes-Maybach cars. Vehicles under the Mercedes-Benz EQ range will also be assembled there. Daimler said that 250 vehicles are being delivered everyday to the Mercedes-Benz Customer Center in Sindelfingen. The plant employs over 25,000 people. Mercedes-Benz SLC Might Get Axed From the Production Line

The low sales figures of the Mercedes-Benz SLC was recently confirmed by Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche. This puts the future of the convertible in jeopardy. “These speciality cars have lost their share in our total portfolio,” Autocar quoted Zetsche. “For a particularly long time, China has led growth, and China shows little interest in cars such as these,” the Daimler boss added. “Our portfolio is not something defined for eternity. Mercedes-Benz USA confirmed that the production run of the Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive is at its end. The units of the B-Class after the 2017 model year will no longer offer an electric powertrain. According to Automotive News, the announcement came from the spokesman of the company, Rob Moran.
