Mercedes to produce smart in China!?

It is being reported that Mercedes wants to produce the smart in China, once they launch the smart in the US market. This is said to be a measure to cut down the cost of production and increase the margin, as the smart division is still losing money left and right. Citing a Mercedes-Benz official under the condition of anonymity, auto industry Web site Cheshi.com.cn reported that the company is considering producing Smart either in its existing joint venture in southeast China’s Fujian Province or in a new plant.

C-Class makes on-screen debut in National Treasure 2

We reported a couple of months ago that the new C-Class will be starring the National Treasure 2 movie, and now they present us with a new website, where you can learn more about the car and watch the movie trailer. There is also a little driving game that you can play, and if you finish the challenge, you can enter to win a brand spankin’ new C-Class. Mercedes-Benz Starts Marketing Campaign On Sustainability

With the introduction of BLUETEC diesel technology to Europe, Mercedes-Benz launches an international advertising campaign on the theme of sustainability. The first printed advertisements using the new brand design will feature the E 300 BLUETEC to be launched in Germany in December 2007. Four different print ads will be placed in all large-circulation magazines in Germany, running in parallel with a TV commercial and an online campaign. The sustainability campaign will then be extended in mid-2008 to include additional vehicles and developments related to Mercedes-Benz’ activities which are combined under the heading ‘TrueBlueSolutions’.
