If you bought a Mercedes-Benz diesel car in UK sometime in the last six years, you’re bound to be affected by this new announcement from the German automaker. About three million Mercedes diesel cars are being recalled to improve their emissions performance. The announcement is still a backlash from the Volkswagen diesel scandal that put European cars into strict scrutiny. Daimler just announced that it will be recalling some of its Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans. According to MarketWatch, the move is to allow the company to replace the software of the vehicle that is related to its emissions. Based from the source, the company sent an estimated 11,000 letters to customers who bought Sprinter models. The document mentioned that the “emissions-relevant control units” of the vans will be getting enhanced software. Last July, rumors surfaced about Daimler’s plan to buy MV Agusta, which indicated that the German multinational corporation might be planning to expand its vehicle range to include motorcycles. Recently, Reuters confirmed about the imminent move of Daimler to buy 25 percent of the Italian motorcycle’s shares.
