Hamilton claims 50th career win at US GP; Rosberg second for Mercedes 1-2

Lewis Hamilton managed to gain back some ground in the race for the 2016 F1 drivers championship. The Mercedes driver took the win at the US GP over teammate Nico Rosberg and managed to climb to within 26 points of the lead, with three races left in the season. The 2015 United States Grand Prix was not short on action and drama, even after only 12 cars managed to survive the tough wet conditions at the Circuit  of the Americas in Austin, Texas. In the end, though, Lewis Hamilton emerged victorious–both in the race and in claiming his second-straight Formula One driver’s championship. Rosberg takes pole in shortened US GP qualifying

Nico Rosberg will start at the head of the grid at the 2015 United States Grand Prix. With delay upon delay at the qualifying session for US GP and the rain looking like it had no intention of letting up, Q3 was cancelled and the grid was determined by Q2, which Rosberg topped amid conditions that continued to get worse during Sunday.
