Aston Martin Valhalla Gets a 937 HP V8 Engine from AMG

Initially called the AM-RB 003 and referred to as the “Son of Valkyrie”, the production version of the concept is finally out in the form of the Aston Martin Valhalla. It is highlighted with a more powerful engine sourced from AMG. It should be noted that the car was supposed to follow Adrian Newey’s design, which was closely associated with the Valkyrie. However, the entry of former-AMG boss Tobias Moers as the new CEO of Aston Martin and Lawrence Stroll’s Formula 1 team bearing the brand name led to major changes in the final product particularly in the engine development and severance with the Red Bull F1 brand. The original… Continue Reading »

No Point in Setting a New Nurburgring Record with the Project One

Mercedes-AMG CEO Tobias Moers is confident that the Project One can set a record of its own at the Nurburgring track. However, he currently doesn’t see a reason why they have to do it. Last July, Porsche completed a record-breaking lap with the heavily-modified 919 Evo Le Mans race car. Driven by Timo Bernhard, a works Porsche driver, the vehicle covered a lap in five minutes and 19.55 seconds. The time was almost a minute faster than Stefan Bellof’s record lap run in 1983 with his Porsche 956. Moers told Motoring that he saw the lap record run of the modded 919 Evo and he was impressed by it. When… Continue Reading »

Is There a Mercedes-AMG SUV Black Series in the Works?

Who’s excited about a Mercedes-AMG SUV Black Series? Well, it appears Mercedes is not one of them because AMG CEO Tobias Moers just laughed at the idea. “No, no, no, no… Never,” was the resounding response of Moers to Auto Guide when he was asked about it during the 2018 New York Auto Show. He emphasized that the Black Series treatment is only given to cars that are worthy of the racetrack. It should be noted that the AMG brand has expanded drastically in the past few years. They now offer the 43 series models in addition to their 45, 63, 63 S and 65 series vehicles. The present SUVs of Mercedes… Continue Reading »

According to sources, the market-ready version of the four-door Mercedes-AMG GT will shed off its camouflage in March at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. Official teaser photos of the car have already started surfacing the Internet. However, it is still hard to make out many of its key exterior elements because the unit is still clad in a zebra camouflage. Images from Mercedes show the Mercedes-AMG GT four-door undergoing wind tunnel testing and having its test run on tracks. The spy shots hint that… Continue Reading »
