How will the Yahama R1M fare against the Mercedes F1 car? During the Festival of Speed in Barbados, the 2013 Mercedes AMG Petronas Silver Arrows Formula One car was pitted against the sports bike. In the video posted by Supercars of London via YouTube, the Mercedes F1 car was driven by none other than Lewis Hamilton. The race car made laps together with the Yamaha R1M Superbike at the Bushy Park Race Circuit. The two vehicles made a truly amazing sight as they both put on quite a show. The official announcement of Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team regarding its 2017 drivers’ lineup is scheduled to be made a few hours from now. Reliable sources said that Valtteri Bottas is the likely replacement of Nico Rosberg. Another event that further fueled the speculations is the reported visit of the Finn at the Mercedes factory just before Christmas. According to ESPN, Bottas went to the plant to try out the cockpit of the 2017 Silver Arrow. Technical preparations were also made with Mercedes engineers for the coming racing season. Tension escalated quickly at the 2016 Formula One Spanish Grand Prix. Just four turns from the starting line, the Silver Arrows of Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg collided with each other, which led to their early elimination from the race. Despite the straight faces of the drivers following the event, there was another turbulence evidently brewing within the Mercedes F1 team. Opinions were divided after reviewing clips of the incident. If the 2013 Spanish Grand Prix was anything to go by, it would seem that the Mercedes AMG Petronas team still lacks something significant in order to turn solid practices and great qualifying performance into actual race wins and a good amount of championship points.
