Pascal Wehrlein Leaves Manor Racing Team

Pascal Wehrlein is a decorated race car driver prior to his entry in Formula One. He became the youngest driver to win a Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) race at the age of 19 and also the youngest champion of the same organization at age 20 in 2015. His skills led him to a driver’s seat in Manor Racing Team. Lotus Will Shift to Mercedes Engines Next Season

Another team in Formula One is joining the Mercedes-Benz bandwagon. According to reports, Lotus F1 Team just inked a deal with the German automaker for a supply of Mercedes engines in the 2015 racing season. Mercedes AMG Petronas has been dominant this season. This is evidenced by the series of victories achieved by its drivers over the completed races of this year. Notably, a majority of them were one-two wins, usually with a big gap in terms of finishing times compared to other teams. At the Essen Motor Show, a brace of Mercedes racers brought back memories of a particular Group C racer that literally demolished its opposition once its full development potential was reached. This was the C9 endurance racer, which was a co-development between Sauber and Mercedes. Mercedes’ involvement with Sauber for the C9 began in 1987, when Peter Sauber asked, and received, permission to use the Mercedes wind tunnel in testing the aerodynamics of its latest race car.
