Mercedes-Benz Building New Battery Factory In Jawor, Poland

In a bid to extend its network of battery factories to nine countries in three different continents, Mercedes-Benz is building a battery factor in Jawor, Poland, a town just 100 km away from the German border. Daimler AG appears bent on expanding its presence in Central and Eastern Europe. The German luxury vehicle manufacturer recently established a transmissions facility in Romania along with an assembly plant in Hungary. Now, the company is set to open an engine factory in Poland, as indicated on a report from autoevolution.com. The town of Jawor in Poland will serve as the location of the first Mercedes-Benz Cars plant in the country. Proving themselves as the best when it comes to harsh terrains and challenging environments, the Mercedes-Benz Unimog and Mercedes-Benz Zetros emerged victorious at the 2015 Wroclaw Poland extreme road rally, which is Europe’s biggest and most-demanding license-free off-road events. In the eight days pushing the participating vehicles to their limits, the Unimog captured two first places in the two racing categories it joined while the Zetros bagged one win in another class.
