Mercedes F1 Team Weekend Wrap-up

The Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team just had an amazing weekend. First, the drivers of Mercedes F1 team both dominated the event with a 1-2 finish. The race in Canada marked the 56th career win of Lewis Hamilton. The event was also where the Briton got his fourth Grand Slam victory for claiming the pole position during qualifying, having the fastest lap plus leading every lap in the race, and eventually emerging triumphant in the end. Valtteri Bottas came in second while Daniel Ricciardo of Red Bull landed third. An unfortunate contact with Red Bull driver Max Verstappen’s car drove Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel to the fourth rank. It should be… Continue Reading »

Pascal Wehrlein Leaves Manor Racing Team

Pascal Wehrlein is a decorated race car driver prior to his entry in Formula One. He became the youngest driver to win a Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) race at the age of 19 and also the youngest champion of the same organization at age 20 in 2015. His skills led him to a driver’s seat in Manor Racing Team. Upon the announcement of Nico Rosberg’s retirement in F1, Wehrlein was one of the names that popped up as a possible replacement of the 2016 World Champion in Mercedes AMG Petronas team. However, sources said that the former DTM champion was still considered by Mercedes as inexperienced in F1. Thus, he remained as… Continue Reading »

Mercedes F1 Drivers 2017 Lineup Update: Valtteri Bottas Set to Join the Team

Recent developments suggest that Valtteri Bottas is set to join Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team for the 2017 season. The 27-year old driver is poised to replace Nico Rosberg in his seat with the 2016 F1 Constructors’ Champion. The Finn will be partnered with the three-time F1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton in the upcoming year. Bottas has been in the sights of Mercedes F1 following the retirement of Rosberg from the sport. There is a problem with it though because the Finn is currently locked in his contract with Williams until the end of 2017. Nico Rosberg is back on his winning ways. The German bagged the victory in the recently concluded Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix. However, it was his partner who really showed a very impressive performance. Rosberg started with a pole position in Belgium, which gave him a huge advantage in the race. The Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team driver finished with a time of 1:44:51.058. He was followed by Daniel Ricciardo of Red Bull who was only 14.113 seconds behind. Check Out The Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Video That Hyped The Monaco GP

The video released by Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS prior to the Grand Prix is rather impressive and may make Formula One an appealing option for people looking for a sport to follow, as shown on a report from autoevolution.com. This adrenaline-pumping video can be likened to an awe-inspiring half-time talk given by a great coach. The video was meant to hype up the Monaco GP since the appeal of Formula One has been waning in the last ten years. It may be necessary to nudge the FIA to find a solution to make the Formula One stimulating again. The current state of the race was not like what it was two decades… Continue Reading »

How the Turbo Technology of Mercedes F1 Came To Be

The introduction of the present engine regulations brought a lot of advantages for Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team. The performance gains of the team allowed them to score back-to-back championships in both the Constructors and Drivers categories in 2014 to 2015. It also gave them numerous one-two finishes in races. As we have mentioned in our earlier report, the current hybrid V6 engine used by Mercedes F1 is not yet in its full potential. With more than 900 bhp in its output, the engine was at its 45 percent thermal efficiency as of last year. However, the video featured here indicates that Mercedes is targeting at least 50 percent efficiency… Continue Reading »
