Nico Rosberg Gets Two-Year Contract Extension with Mercedes F1 Team

Daimler announced that Nico Rosberg finally got his contract extension under its Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team. The company revealed that Mercedes and the German driver closed a two-extension in the latter’s contract. That means he will still be competing under the banner of the three-pointed star brand in the 2017 and 2018 F1 seasons. At the time of Rosberg’s signing. He was leading the 2016 F1 Driver Standings. A 1986 Mercedes-Benz SL roadster was put up for sale with a price tag of around $334,000 or €300,000, as shown on a report from autoevolution.com. The price may appear too high, but this particular SL-Class has gone through the hands of AMG, which essentially increased its value. Another thing to consider is the fact that these changes were requested by racing legend Michael Schumacher. Lewis Hamilton Reveals Future Plans in Formula One

When asked about his future plans in Formula One, Lewis Hamilton responded that he doesn’t see himself anywhere else other than with Mercedes. The recently crowned three-time F1 Drivers’ Champion said to BBC Sport that he is targeting a retirement from the race track within three or four years after his current contract ends. Mercedes Retains Michael Schumacher as Ambassador

Mercedes-Benz confirmed that Michael Schumacher remains as its ambassador. The decision of the company came despite the current medical condition of the Formula One legend. It should be noted that Schumacher had an accident while skiing with his son at Meribel Ski Resort in the French Alps on December 29, 2013. The incident left him with a serious head injury, which led doctors to place him in a medically-induced coma. Nico Rosberg renewed his contract with Mercedes AMG Petronas. The new contract ties the German driver to the team of the giant automaker brand for two more years according to rumors.
