Mercedes-Benz Remains as the Best-Selling Luxury Car Brand in the U.S.

For the third consecutive year, Mercedes-Benz emerged as the best-selling luxury car brand in the U.S. The competition this time was too close between Mercedes and BMW with the former beating the latter by only over 4,000 units. Based on the sales figures of the automakers, Mercedes capped 2018 with 315,959 units sold in the U.S. Meanwhile, BMW was not far behind at 311,014 units. Lexus took the third place with 298,310 units sold while Audi lagged from its German rivals at the fourth position in the market with 223,323 units. Mercedes-Benz Releases Statement on Windshield Glass Replacements

In a press release, Mercedes-Benz USA said that it “strongly recommends” using only Mercedes-Benz parts for windshield glass replacements. In the same statement, Mercedes-Benz noted that the windshield glass manufactured for its vehicles has very particular specifications. Other glass manufacturers may not have the same access to the technology that can ensure one hundred percent compatibility with Mercedes-Benz vehicle systems. What does this mean? Mercedes-Benz Ditches Diesel in the US for 2017

Mercedes-Benz is ditching its plans for diesel models in the United States of America this year. The move is due to the tight regulations set forth by the country’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) following the scandal in the diesel segment of the automotive industry back in 2015. One Million Mercedes-Benz Units Recalled

Daimler made an announcement that one million units of Mercedes-Benz vehicles will be recalled worldwide. That was after the company discovered that some models are at risk of catching fire because of a potentially defective fuse. According to Reuters, 51 fires were already reported by Mercedes owners globally, and the culprit was a faulty fuse.
