Mercedes F1 Caps the Azerbaijan GP with 1-2 Victory

Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One finished the Azerbaijan Grand Prix with a one-two victory following the win of Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton trailing behind in the second place. It looks like Bottas is having a good start this year as he managed to cap two wins in the first four races of the 2019 season. In terms of number of wins, he is tied with his teammate, Hamilton, who bagged the Drivers’ Championship last year. However, despite the Mercedes drivers having two wins each, Bottas was able to grab the first place in the current Drivers’ Standings while Hamilton settled at second. The Finn has 87 points in his… Continue Reading »

Mercedes F1 Hat-trick Nostalgia

Winners of the constructors title for the fifth season running, there seems to be no stopping Mercedes F1 on track. Lewis Hamilton is now a racer who can be backed years in advance to win the title, and perhaps the only regret of Silver Arrows fans is that the team spent such a long hiatus out of the game. Between 1956 and 2009, the name of Mercedes was absent from the list of Formula 1. Yet, there were some fantastic talents on board in the mid-1950s, with Juan Manuel Fangio and Stirling Moss being prominent names in that regard. They form the first part of this nostalgic list of famous… Continue Reading »

The Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One team was just awarded the Constructors’ Championship while Lewis Hamilton got the coveted Drivers’ Championship. The team also expressed interest on Mick Schumacher, the son of seven-time F1 champion Michael Schumacher. After an admittedly grueling 2018 season, Mercedes star driver Hamilton received the two trophies from FIA, F1’s governing body, at a gala in St Petersburg, Russia. “We all had to raise our game, each and every member of our team,” Mercedes F1 boss Toto Wolff said. “Winning both titles is a testament to the incredibly hard work of the team,” he added. Mercedes F1 Rewards Valtteri Bottas Equal Opportunity for the Championship in 2019

All that Lewis Hamilton needs to bag his fifth drivers’ championship is to win the next Formula 1 Grand Prix in the United States and hope that Sebastian Vettel finishes below the second place during the race. Some of his victories can be attributed to the efforts of his teammate Valtteri Bottas though. Mercedes AMG Petronas boss Toto Wolff warns that the full potential of the Finn will be unleashed in the 2019 season. Bottas has been labeled with a lot of names during his 2018 run. He was referred to as the “wingman“, “butler” and “second fiddle” by F1 personalities and the media because of his willingness to play… Continue Reading »

Confidence of Valtteri Bottas Diminishes Due to Lack of Wins in 2018

Being partnered to a four-time Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton and belonging to the top team in the sport today puts a lot of pressure to Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas. The Finn has not won a race since the start of the 2018 F1 season. His last victory came in Abu Dhabi last year. The highlights of his career this year so far are his six podium finishes. The statistics of Bottas definitely pales in comparison with Hamilton’s seven wins this season. It was also nothing compared to his performance in 2017, which gained him three wins, 10 podiums finishes, and four pole positions. Bottas admitted in his interview… Continue Reading »
