New rules in Formula One will be introduced this year. However, Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team is still seen as a dominant force most likely to emerge as Constructors’ Champion again in the coming season. It was reported that new rules in F1 will be put in effect this season. The amended regulations will bring in wider wings and tyres plus increased downforce for the race cars of the sport. Have you ever wondered how much does your favorite Formula One driver makes based on his contract? Recently, News.com.au revealed the list of the top earners in the sport. Based from the source, Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull, Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen are the highest paid drivers in F1. Each driver has a salary of $31.7 million. Next to them is Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton with $28.8 million. He is followed by Jenson Button of McLaren with $23.1 million. Then, Nico Rosberg of Mercedes makes $17.3 million. Jenson Button was positive that the controversial “secret testing” of Mercedes-Benz has nothing to do with the team’s win when Nico Rosberg bagged the win in the recent Monaco Grand Prix. After a solid opener at Hockenheimring, the Mercedes-Benz team is ready to get on with the second round of the 2013 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters season at Brands Hatch, England, to be held this weekend. The 1.929 km Indy Circuit will be the eighth time DTM comes over to Brands Hatch. This makes it the shortest DTM track on the current calendar, and it features a top speed of 225kph or greater at the start/finish straight.
