Posaidon Tuned Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 4MATIC To 960 Pound-Feet

As if the range-topping Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 4MATIC (X166) doesn’t have enough power yet, performance tuner Posaidon decided it needs more. The luxury SUV, in its original state, comes with a 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 engine known as the M 157. Without the tune-up, the engine can produce 585 horsepower (436 kW) with 516 pound-feet of torque (700 Nm). To boost the car’s performance, the tuner adds its own in-house designed turbocharger, changes the ECU, and upgrades the intake and exhaust systems from the ground up. That leads us to believe that it may be the much-anticipated Mercedes-Maybach GLS. The testing of the new Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 continues. The new spy shots of the large sport utility vehicle appear online again. The prototype appears covered in a heavy black and white camouflage so it is hard to make out what Mercedes is up to with the high-performance GLS. The misty background does not help either. However, looking very closely at the images reveals that the upcoming AMG GLS 63 will feature a lot of changes compared to the present version of the model. There’s a sighting of another Mercedes-Benz sport utility vehicle in the works. This time, it’s the 2020 model of the Mercedes-AMG GLS 63. Even with the heavy zebra camouflage covering almost everything, the dimensions, body shape, stance, and windows design definitely suggest that what we are looking at is most likely the GLS SUV.
