Sky-Go Discusses How to Hack and Remotely Control the Mercedes-Benz E-Class

The luxury cars of Mercedes-Benz nowadays are now packing with technologies that were only subjects of sci-fi movies decades ago. However, as its cars are becoming more connected online, their vulnerability to hacking has increased. The security researchers of Sky-Go, the cybersecurity division of Chinese vendor Qihoo 360, found at least 19 security flaws in the Mercedes-Benz E-Class that would let them remotely access the key functions of the vehicle and even start its engine. Most people consider diesel engines as far more superior than petrol-based ones in terms of reliability. Recently, a 1988 Mercedes-Benz W124 that has been stuck in the yard for 16 years proves just that. More than two years after the unveiling of the fifth-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class at the 2016 North American International Auto Show, it appears that the car is receiving a mid-cycle refresh. Brabus, in partnership with Fostla, just unveiled their meanest looking Mercedes-AMG E63 S to date with an engine power that backs up its more aggressive look. The latest Mercedes-AMG E63 S is powered by a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 with 603 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque. That’s really impressive because it even surpasses the Mercedes-AMG GT R, which only produces 577 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque.
