Three New Citaro Euro VI Buses Delivered To The City Of Trier

Three new Citaro Euro VI buses have been added by the public utility company of the City of Trier. Since the emissions from these buses are 80 percent lower compared to previous models, they have a significant contribution to the environment of the city. Since they save over eight percent of diesel fuel, they can reduce the fuel costs for the operator. Around 350 units that featured the Euro VI exhaust system were already delivered by Daimler Buses. The number of Setra and Mercedes-Benz-branded buses that use this environment-friendly exhaust treatment system is expected to exceed 1,700 units by the end of the year. Mercedes-Benz Citaro Euro VI Takes “Bus of the Year 2013” Award

Thanks to its innovative approach that focuses on safety, efficiency, and eco-friendliness, the new Mercedes-Benz Citaro (Euro VI engine variant) was awarded as the Bus of the Year 2013 by an international jury. The bus is the first production model that already incorporates the tech needed to meet Euro VI emissions standards. The Citaro Euro VI beat out competitors that mostly fielded hybrid-equipped candidates. ESWE Verkehrsgesellschaft was the proud recipient of 3 Mercedes-Benz Citaro Euro VI buses—the first production units of the clean bus that rolled off the plant and straight into operation.
