Christian Horner Called “Very Unprofessional” For Lewis Hamilton Comments

The revelation of Red Bull boss Christian Horner on Lewis Hamilton is apparently doing him more harm than good. Another backlash came when former Formula 1 driver Christijan Albers called his remarks “very unprofessional.” Early on, Red Bull Team Principal and CEO Christian Horner revealed to the press that the camp of Lewis Hamilton “reached out” to them to inquire about a possible seat within the team. It wasn’t clear back then who he was referring to until he later clarified that it was Anthony Hamilton, Lewis’ father. All these, Horner claimed, happened during the delayed contract negotiations of Mercedes F1 with the seven-time champion. It should be noted though… Continue Reading »

F1: Red Bull’s Horner says Hamilton was ‘desperate’ for a Red Bull seat in 2013

There’s still quite a bit of time before the 2016 Formula One season gets underway, but Christian Horner is already stirring the pot a bit. According to the Red Bull team principal, Lewis Hamilton was ‘desperate’ to race with Red Bull after he parted ways with McLaren in 2012 and before the then-surprise announcement that he would be signing with the Mercedes F1 team. Horner said that Hamilton had approached Red Bull twice about a prospective race seat for 2013. However, Horner felt that there was no way to accommodate Hamilton while the team still had Sebastian Vettel, a rising star in the F1 ranks. By 2012, Vettel had run off with… Continue Reading »

Red Bull Continues to Whine Over Mercedes’ Formula One Dominance

The Formula One season just started but everyone is hearing Red Bull whine over the dominance of Mercedes-AMG Petronas again. It came to a point wherein Toto Wolff already got irritated. “Get your f*****g head down and work to sort it out,” told the annoyed Motorsport director of Mercedes to their rival. Wolff was quick to clear out that the “F” word was not intended for the Red Bull boss though,. It should be noted that Christian Horner, Helmut Marko, and Daniel Ricciardo have been singing the same tune over and over again about how the interest in the sport would wane if the FIA does not come up with ways to level… Continue Reading »

Niki Lauda Takes a Jab at Marko Over the Vettel and Mercedes Issue

Niki Lauda is known to say what is on his mind, and he is not someone who lightly tolerates nonsense. Recently, he slammed Dr. Helmut Marko, the motorsport advisor of Red Bull for instigating speculations that Sebastian Vettel is being courted by Mercedes AMG Petronas to jump ship in 2016. It should be recalled that the Red Bull advisor revealed in an interview with Sport Bild last month that Mercedes and McLaren have been proposing for Vettel to move to their respective teams. He noted the two even presented Vettel outrageously high offers. “All the speculation of bull*** Marko is absolute rubbish,” said the non-executive director of Mercedes during an interview. He also confirmed… Continue Reading »

Will Team Mercedes Conquer Monaco

Despite the barrage of victories that the Formula One team of Mercedes AMG Petronas has since the Australian Grand Prix all the way to the Spanish Grand Prix, critics are still questioning whether Lewis Hamilton or Nico Rosberg will maintain their performance in Monaco. According to pundits, team Mercedes might face an upset in Monaco. Their forecasts were based on the history of the circuit in Monaco, wherein it produced unexpected results several times. They cited as examples the one-time victories incurred by Jarnu Turlli in 2004 and Olivier Panis in 1996. It should be noted that each driver mentioned only claimed one victory in his overall career in F1,… Continue Reading »

Mercedes F1 Team’s “Early Bird” Attitude Pays Off

Mercedes could finish two laps ahead of its competitors in the opening of the Formula One racing season this March 16. This is such a bold claim and some of you may think that it is exaggerated. But surprisingly, this was what Christian Horner stated in his interview featured in Australia’s The Telegraph. And yes, it is the same Christian Horner who is the current team principal of the reigning F1 champion for the past few years which is Red Bull. At present, Red Bull’s performance is being hampered by technical issues. This was attributed by experts as a result of the team’s adaptation to the new F1 regulations. On the… Continue Reading »
