Red Bull’s championship leader Max Verstappen and Mercedes’ George Russell collided in the opening corners of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix Sprint race, leaving Verstappen’s car with a gaping tear in its left sidepod. Bottas 2nd while Hamilton struggles in Azerbaijan GP

The Azerbaijan GP was certainly a very wild and chaotic race. Valtteri Bottas drove his Mercedes to second place right at the last possible moment heading into the chequered flag, ahead of Lance Stroll’s Williams car and behind the race winner, Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo. Bottas went behind Stroll’s slipstream at the final straight and overtook just ahead of the chequered flag. It was a fitting finish to the very wild race which saw yellow flags, a red flag, and a lot of contact between cars.
