1938 Mercedes-Benz 540K Autobahn Kurier Wins Best of Show at Pebble Beach

Classic, antique, and vintage Mercedes-Benz cars are no stranger at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. One of the veterans in the event is the 1938 Mercedes-Benz 540K Autobahn Kurier, and a quick Google search will tell you just that. Recently, the car has won the Best of Show in the 70th year of the affair. Mercedes-Benz took home major awards during the Red Dot Design Concept Award. The Mercedes-Benz F 015 Luxury In Motion received the coveted Red Dot Design Concept Award for trailblazing design while the “Concept IAA” and “Red Dot” got award for high quality design. Multibeam LED Headlamps in Mercedes E-Class Get Red Dot Award

Mercedes-Benz recently received the Red Dot Design Award for its Multibeam LED headlamps, which come as standard equipment in the all-new E-Class models. The award is just another proof that Mercedes is a global trendsetter when it comes to its designs. According to Daimler, the Multibeam LED headlamps were among the 5,214 product entries submitted for judging in the “Red Dot Design Awards” of this year. Mercedes-Benz Receives Awards At The Fleet World Honours

Significant changes implemented by Mercedes-Benz resulted to its receiving the Most Improved Fleet Manufacturer Award during the 2013 Fleet World Honours. Some of the changes the company implemented were the creation of a Strategic Account Manager team and the Small Business Partnership plan. The company also introduced the Direct Sales Programme and the Chauffeur Programm. The retailer training and development of the company was also accredited by the IMI. Fleet sales in the UK market of the company increased by seven percent in 2012. More than half of the sales of the company came from the fleet market. SL Body Structure Reaps Design Award

Mercedes-Benz’s new SL has picked up yet another award in recognition of its groundbreaking advances in the car’s design. Garnering 1st place at the 2012 EuroCarBody Awards, the SL was recognized for the intelligent design methods that were adopted in producing the all-aluminum structure. As has been pointed out by the carmaker, the new SL’s body is 110 kilos lighter compared to a similarly-sized body that would use traditional steel structures. In fact, the current SL’s structure is 140 kilos lighter than the SL it replaced.
