The Mercedes-Benz Unimog is a very versatile workhorse. The massive off-roader can go from a tractor unit to a perfect mobile base during the apocalypse. We recently spotted a Doka crew cab Mercedes-Benz Unimog U500 that’s currently on sale at Cars & Bids starting at $131,000. According to the seller’s nearly 40-minute long video, the truck was originally a single cab unit but it was later modified to add a rear passenger compartment. Overall, the vehicle can house three occupants in front, including the driver, and four at the back. The used 2004 U500 comes with a Designo Platinum Metallic exterior paint and grey interior. First Electric Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen Launched By Arnold Schwarzenegger

On January 24 , 2017 the first all-electric Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen was launched in Austria. Gracing the event was Hollywood action star Arnold Schwarzenegger. It should be noted though that the all-electric G-Wagen is not officially from Mercedes. The SUV was a project of Austrian firm Kreisel Electric, according to Wheels magazine. Other known offerings of the company are EV versions of the Porsche Panamera, BMW 3-Series Touring, Skoda Yeti and Volkswagen Golf. Former California governor Schwarzenegger praised the electric G-Wagen saying, “This amazing off-road vehicle as a clean and fast electric car? The 1977 Mercedes-Benz Unimog U1300 of actor Arnold Schwarzenegger was put up for sale recently in Germany, according to a report from gtspirit.com. The unique, four-wheel drive multipurpose truck is road legal in Germany and the United States. The German-made 7.5 ton truck was custom-built on a 1977 chassis for the Austrian-born actor. It features a 6.4-liter diesel engine that is Euro 3 compliant and is capable of producing 320 HP of power. However, its top speed is limited to around 100 km/h due to its massive weight and less than aerodynamic design. It sits on a set of 22-inch wheels clad in 445/65 tires from Michelin. Actor and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger definitely prefers trucks over cars. Who can blame him? His big Mr. Universe and Terminator-like physique can make normal-sized cars seem so small. Also, maybe he likes a vehicle with plenty of room to move around. On the other light, preferring tough-looking trucks over cars might only be a way to feed his ego. Well, we are not sure about his reasons.
