2019 Mercedes-Benz GLA Spied During Testing

The prototype for the new Mercedes-Benz GLA was recently spied. The compact utility vehicle in the spy shots was heavily disguised in zebra camouflage, but based on the shape and bulges in the wraps, the auto bears a striking resemblance with the Mercedes-Benz A-Class seen earlier. According to Motor1, which is also the source of the spy shots, the next-generation of the GLA will be launched next year. It will be released under a 2019 model year. Mercedes-AMG A45 with Electric Motor Coming Up

The second-generation Mercedes-AMG A45 is getting an electric motor. The unit is expected to significantly boost the power of the hatchback. According to Motoring, citing reliable anonymous sources within the automotive industry, the electric motor will be used to provide the AMG A45 with a hybrid powertrain. The model bearing the unit is expected to arrive sometime in 2019. Currently, the AMG A45 has a gasoline-fed 2.0-liter inline-four turbo engine. The power unit offers 280 kW that launches the car from zero to 100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds. Mercedes-AMG A-Class and CLA to Get Cheaper Versions

The Mercedes-AMG A-Class and CLA range will get cheaper versions that will sit below their respective AMG 45 models. AMG CEO Tobias Moers said in an interview with Autocar, “We will complement our successful 45 models with two versions like we do with our larger cars.” No additional details about the matter were revealed to the public yet, but the affected cars will reportedly bear the “AMG 25” model names.
