[DTM] Mercedes AMG Preps for Brands Hatch Weekend

After a solid opener at Hockenheimring, the Mercedes-Benz team is ready to get on with the second round of the 2013 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters season at Brands Hatch, England, to be held this weekend. The 1.929 km Indy Circuit will be the eighth time DTM comes over to Brands Hatch. This makes it the shortest DTM track on the current calendar, and it features a top speed of 225kph or greater at the start/finish straight. [DTM] Vietoris with Podium Finish, Paffett Fourth for Mercedes-Benz

While the team was not able to claim a win in the season-opening race at Hockenheim, Christian Vietoris and Gary Paffett ensured that the team would be off to a strong start. Vietories claimed his first DTM podium finish after coming in third behind race winner Augusto Farfus and second-placer Dirk Werner, while Gary Paffett crossed the finish line around three seconds later for fourth place. Vietoris, a member of the Junior Team currently competing for Mercedes-Benz in the 2013 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters, was 9.675 seconds behind Farfus, who clocked 1:10:11.583. It’s only the qualifying session for the first race of the 2013 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters season, and the young guns of the Mercedes-Benz team are already pushing hard. The first weekend in May will see tons of racing action as the 2013 season of the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters gets underway at Hockenheim. The Mercedes-Benz team for 2013 will feature one veteran and a bunch of young drivers ready to make their mark. After Superb Formula 3 Career, Pascal Wehrlein Moves on to DTM

Pascal Wehrlein, who is set to become the youngest driver in the history of the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters, has just wrapped up his Formula 3 career to the tune of a win to round out three podium finishes in the European Championship this past weekend. Wehrlein won the second race of the weekend in Monza for RSC Mucke Motorsport, after Raffaele Marciello claimed victory in the first race. STIHL to Sponsor Robert Wickens’ Mercedes AMG C-Coupe

Longtime Mercedes-Benz DTM team sponsor STIHL, a global manufacturer of chainsaws and other types of handheld power equipment, is shifting its involvement with the team. It’s now sponsoring its own car, the Mercedes AMG C-Coupe of Robert Wickens, which will be co-sponsored by GRIP – The Motor Magazine, a print publication that also has a TV show.
