The #AutoChina hashtag tells us that the vehicle is bound for the 2018 Beijing Auto Show happening later this month. According to Auto Express, Mercedes-Maybach already confirmed that they will be revealing a new model in Beijing. 1979 Mercedes-Benz G-Class in an Amber-Like Encasing Displayed at 2018 NAIAS

The same Mercedes-Benz G-Class encased in a block of amber, which was featured in an advertisement released earlier, was put on display at the 2018 North American International Auto Show. Sitting at the Cobo Hall entrance was the 1979 model of the iconic SUV to hype its latest version making its debut at the event. According to Daimler, the material used around the 1979 Mercedes-Benz G-Class was made of synthetic resin. The block weighs 44.4 tonnes. In two days, the Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA) will finally kick off. One of the most anticipated vehicles in the event is the Mercedes-AMG Project One.
