Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coup̩ РGlobal Road Testing

The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe offers all the technical innovations of the new E-Class series that one might expect to find in a sports-oriented luxury coupe. These include selective damper control, drowsiness detection, preventive occupant protection and the Active Bonnet. As a feature specific to the Coupe, the Dynamic Driving package allows different suspension setups at the touch of a button. Adaptive Main Beam Assist, road sign recognition and an automatic emergency braking system are other features with which the new series sets standards in this vehicle category. As you’ll see in the video above, years of road testing and designing went into creating the new E-Class and bring you… Continue Reading »

Geneva 2009: Mercedes-Benz presents new E-Class sedan and coupé

“The best medicine for bad times is first class products,” is the statement made today on the Mercedes press conference at the Geneva Motor Show by Dr. Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars. The brand bearing the three-pointed star delivered two prime examples of this in the shape of the double premiere of the new E-Class sedan and the new E-Class coupe. The ninth generation of the successful upper mid-range model series will come to market at the end of March as the safest and most comfortable vehicle in its class. With up to 23 percent less fuel consumption compared… Continue Reading »

Official: The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe

Just three months after the presentation of the E-Class saloon, Mercedes-Benz is launching a new highlight in the new model series while continuing a tradition that has repeatedly met with great enthusiasm throughout the history of the E-Class. The new E-Class Coupe offers a very special combination of two attributes for which the Mercedes brand is known: fascination and efficiency. With its classic coupe side aspect – no B-pillars and fully retractable side windows – the new two-door car is a particularly sporty interpretation of the E-Class’s dynamic design. The new E-Class Coupe will be first shown at the Geneva Motor Show in March, and then later be available at… Continue Reading »

Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe: First Impressions

Not only did we get some exclusive spy photos of the new E-Class Coupe yesterday, but we also got a mini review of the Coupe. Another Insider sent us a mail with some very interesting tidbits. Here is it in her/his own words. … well, about the differences, there are many compared to the CLK. On this new E-Coupe, you have all the technologies of C-Class + E-Class, such as the Advanced Agility suspension as well as Night View Assist. The aircon has been upgraded (even in standard, it’s now electronic). In terms of handling, the car is even more comfortable and easier to drive. As the car is quite… Continue Reading »

Exclusive Spy Shots of the Next-Gen E-Class Coupe Exterior and Interior

We’ve received exclusive spy shots of the next-gen Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe from our very own spy photographer and “Insider”. You’ve seen dozens of such sighting in the past, but I don’t believe we’ve seen pictures of the car this close and (shall we say) personal. In this round of spy shots, we not only get to see the exterior in plain sight, but a glimpse into the interior. The Mercedes interior emblems have been removed, as is customary in test vehicles, but we’re still able to see the rest of the dashboard, steering wheels as well as the shift knob. Our Insider has also confirmed that Mercedes-Benz is close to… Continue Reading »

Official next-gen E-Class Coupe images leaked online

Mercedes-Benz has some serious issues with models being leaked weeks if not months before they are officially announced. Today, courtesy of, we are get to see what the next-gen CLK or E-Class Coupe will look like. Even though, we have seen almost totally undisguised images of the Coupe, this is the first time that press photos have been published. The coupe is very similar to the new E-Class released at NAIAS last week, but it also borrows heavily from the CL, making it a prefect and affordable coupe.

Mercedes-Benz Cabrio gets spied with a soft top

Last week, we got the opportunity to see a computer illustration on what the 2010 E-Class Cabrio might look like. This week, courtesy of our beloved GlobalMotors guys, we get to see fresh spy shots of the upcoming E-Class Cabrio. It will be closely based on the coupe version, and will even inherit the E-Class sedan engines. The only thing different is that it will have a soft top, which of course is acceptable, but I am more in favor of having a hard top. Either way, looking forward to more spy shots and info of course. Check out more pictures over at GlobalMotors
