Mercedes-Benz CLK Spy Shots and Important Details Revealed

Contrary to what many believe, Mercedes has not given up on taking on and beating the competition with its new CLK. Spies have caught the CLK being tested and prepped for a possible release in 2009 to take on not just the 3-series coupe, but also the new A5 from Audi. According to AutoExpress, the new CLK will continue to be marketed as a separate vehicle and won’t be associated with the C or E-Class, even though, it will share the C-Classes chassis and possibly some design ideas. It will come in a variety of engine options, such as three V6 engines producing 300hp, 354hp, and 428hp. It should also… Continue Reading »

RENNTECH for CLK63 AMG Black Series

Mercedes-Benz made a big splash with the introduction of its CLK63 AMG Black Series coupe last year. The aggressive “F1 safety-car” look gave the 500 hp CLK Black a visual edge that the CLK55 AMG lacked, and the Black Series’ suspension and brakes were in a decidedly different league compared to other Mercedes. Impressive spec sheet notwithstanding, some customers will still believe that 500 hp is not enough, and for those select few who find the CLK a bit tame, there is always RENNTECH.

New Mercedes CLK-Class: Illustrations and Spy Shots

Still not expected until sometime before summer 2009, the new Mercedes CLK is already in testing. It was caught in Gernamy and in Sweden. According to WorldCarFans, it should have three different engine choices: a V6 with 272hp, a V8 with 388hp and an AMG version with 503hp. There may also be more engines including diesel versions for some markets (mostly Europe). Head over to WorldCarFans to see more pictures

Chasing a Mercedes CLK DTM AMG F1 Safety Car

This is a pretty cool video showing two guys with their Mercedes E320 CDI following and trying to keep up with the Mercedes CLK DTM AMG Forumula 1 Safety Car. Not sure what the Safety Car was doing on the A50 freeway from Eerde to Nistelrode in Netherlands. It is just amazing how powerful and fast this thing is; at one point they were doing over 240km/h. What the CLK does to them at the end is just priceless.

Mercedes CLK63 AMG Black Series Video Review

The guys over at Inside Line have gotten the chance to test and review the new Mercedes Benz CLK63 AMG Black Series that just recently came to the States. While the red color is okay, I would have liked it much better in pure black or even silver. The video is a must see, not because it is the first video of the CLK63 AMG BS in the US, but also because it is pure insanity what the car is doing on the road. Let me shut up so you don’t have waste more time. Have fun watching it!

Channel 4 drives the CLK63 AMG Black Series

Let’s not focus too much on the current company issues, let us focus on why we love Mercedes – the cars. Channel 4 has taken the CLK63 AMG Black Series on the street to see what the BS really offers – and to see if maybe the BS stands for something else. If you would like to know what they though about it, you should visit the Channel 4 website and read for yourself, as it is a very well written article with many useful information for potential buyers and fans in general. Here is a nice quote out of the article 500bhp at 6,800rpm, 465lb-ft of torque at 5,250rpm,… Continue Reading »

Mercedes-Benz CLK Sport Edition

We just got the CLK Black Series from Mercedes, and now we are getting another CLK version, this time it is the Sports Edition. While it doesn’t look like the AMG Black Series with it wide fenders and “evil” looking body kit, we do get some nice things with the SE, such as 18-inch light-alloy wheels with an exclusive design, bi-xenon headlamps, AMG styling. The interior includes AMG ergonomic sports steering wheel, aluminium-look sports pedals and special velour floor mats. Another great thing is the 7G-TRONIC seven-speed automatic transmission, which is the world’s only car transmission of this kind. Its seven gears can be shifted either automatically, via a manual… Continue Reading »
