Seeing is believing, so they say. And what better way to demonstrate the safety of Mercedes-Benz cars than to show a seemingly wrecked CLS that protected its occupants, including the family dog. Mercedes’ spot is called “Amy”, which is the name of the dog accompanying its owners when they crashed in their CLS last year. The voice over asks if Amy was lucky to walk away from the crash. Smart’s latest attempt to reach out to the whole world comes in the form of a small mobile TV studio. It happens to be the smallest of its kind in the world as well. Included in the tour, which began on July 2, are Rome, Berlin, Paris, London and Barcelona. The studio will be offering locals a drive around their city on the latest Smart Fortwo as ambassadors for ‘urban mobility and lifestyle’. As of August 29, 2008 Mercedes-Benz TV will also be available via TV DIGITAL Personal. This new personalized TV platform provided by publisher Axel Springer is to be launched at the forthcoming IFA consumer electronics trade fair in Berlin. Mercedes-Benz TV will feature in the schedules of the new platform as a fully independent channel.
