Major Turkish customer orders 50 Setra coaches

Setra has won a major contract from the country on the Bosporus, with Turkish bus operator Metro placing an order for 50 new Setra S 416 GT-HD/2 coaches in Neu-Ulm. A Setra partner since 2002, this major customer based in Istanbul is thereby increasing the number of Setra coaches in its fleet to 214. The two-axle Setra ComfortClass 400 vehicles will be delivered from late May to early June of this year. Established in 1992 by Galip Ötztürk, Metro cooperates with subcontractors on the long-distance routes that are so popular in Turkey. Its fleet covers 73 of the country’s 81 provinces. Mercedes-Benz to Invest 35M Euro in Turkey for 2011

Mercedes-Benz Türk is set to spend big in Turkey this year, with 35 million euros already in place as part of the company’s investment in the country. The amount is even bigger than the 30 million euros invested the previous year, and it was confirmed by the company’s top executive. “In the 2009 to 2010 period, we invested mainly in our Hosdere factory in Istanbul. Mercedes GP Petronas finishes 4th and 5th in Turkish Grand Prix

Despite starting out on the 5th and 6th grids, Mercedes GP Petronas finished a 4th-5th victory in the recently concluded Turkish Grand Prix at Istanbul Park today. It was a smooth, albeit quiet, race as both Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg were able to pull into their planned pit stops and still hold their positions ahead of their challengers.
