German tuning company, BRABUS, has transformed the GLK into powerhouse with its top-of-the-line turbo diesel model GLK 320 CDI 4MATIC. BRABUS, with its ECO PowerXtra D6 (III) tuning, is delivering an additional 48 hp (47 bhp) / 35.3 kW and a peak torque of 590 Nm (435 lb-ft) to the GLK. It turns the SUV into one of the sportiest diesel models in its class. The sprint from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) takes just 6.9 seconds, top speed is 228 km/h (142 mph).

The gasoline-powered V6 model GLK 350 4MATIC gains 15 hp, for a new rated power output of 287 hp. The BRABUS designers upgrade the striking styling of the Mercedes GLK with an extensive bodycomponents program that is manufactured in OEM quality from high-end Pur-R-Rim plastics.

The range of available BRABUS accessories includes stainless-steel scuff plates with illuminated BRABUS logo, various versions of an ergonomically shaped sport steering wheel, and even interior trim sets made from high-quality woods with various grains or from genuine carbon fiber.

Carlsson tunes the SL 63 AMG

Carlsson, one of many respected Mercedes tuners, has taken the SL63 monster from AMG and given it a small upgrade. Besides changing some of the cosmetic features on the CK63, like new wheels and front/back body kits, they focused their attention on something more important – the engine. We are not exactly sure what they have done to the engine, but they were able to increase the horsepower to an amazing 565, from the original 525hp. We can only speculate that the 40hp increase was achieved via a chip or software modification. Enjoy.

RENNtech’s new line of aftermarket performance products

RENNtech has developed a new line of aftermarket performance products aimed at getting more power out of the 63 series AMG Mercedes-Benz.

RENNtech, generally regarded as the nation’s foremost authority on Mercedes-Benz performance tuning, took something of an “old school” approach towards building its new high-tech products. “The new AMG motor isn’t like the last generation of turbo or kompressor cars,” explains Hartmut Feyhl, president of RENNtech and former technical director of AMG North America. “This new engine is naturally aspirated, like a more traditional race motor, and the way to get more power out of an engine like the 63 is to improve the engine’s breathing.”

To that end, Feyhl and his crew at RENNtech have built new exhaust headers and high-flow sport mufflers, from 304 TiG welded stainless-steel, and developed new engine control software to further boost the engine’s efficiency – and, while “bigger pipes” might seem like a no-brainer, in this case, bigger wasn’t better.
