Atego Trucks As Solid As The Stone It Transports

The Unimog has been featured more than a few times here, but it’s not the only versatile Mercedes truck that has been a loyal and reliable partner for a company. Bamberg-based stone restoration company Steinerestaurierung Bauer-Bornemann GmbH began using the Atego truck this year and field reports are more than promising. This truck, with a maximum 16-ton gross vehicle weight, is proving itself to be highly maneuverable given the extreme space constraints imposed on the vehicle at its current operational sites in Amsterdam and Munich. Long-Distance Actros Trucks Up for Orders

We’ve already reported that Mercedes-Benz’s new Actros line will be launching sometime in the second half of 2012. Recently, however, the German automaker has announced that the long-distance Actros trucks are now up for order. These long-distance haulers are designed to be clean and green—they’re the only trucks that comply with the strict Euro VI emission requirements. Mercedes Actros Trucks Launching In The Second Half Of 2012

Its predecessor won an International Truck of the Year award, so with this laurel firmly in the back of the minds of Mercedes’ truck designers, the Actros is being launched within the second half of this year. A primary feature of the Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks will be their BlueEFFICIENCY powerplants, which promise significant fuel savings combined with low emissions. Daimler sends fleet to Japan for disaster relief assistance

Daimler has already sent at least 2 million euro worth of cash donation to Japan in order to help with relief efforts after the quake and tsunami disaster that hit the country. Now, the company has decided to amp up the support for victims by sending 50 vehicles worth almost 4 million euro to Nippon Foundation, the Japanese aid organization that is responsible for spearheading rebuilding activities in disaster-struck areas in Japan. A couple of business men located in Mongolia recently placed an order for two matching customized Mercedes-Benz Zetros extreme off-road trucks. Daimler Launches BharatBenz Trucks In India

It seems that Mercedes’ parent company Daimler is looking at India with new vigor. Following its relaunch of the Maybach ultraluxury brand and the introduction of the G-Class with the AMG G55, Daimler has launched an excusive brand of trucks labeled BharatBenz for the Indian market. Says Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler AG, “We are sending a clear message with our new truck brand: Daimler is at home in India. Our BharatBenz trucks are the right combination of Daimler’s DNA and India’s market know-how.
