Over the last few years, we’ve seen numerous spy shots of the 2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS, but this time, it’s a bit different. As you can see on the pictures, courtesy of Autoblog, the shape of the new CLS is slowly taking shape. The headlights along with the taillights are visible and give us an idea of what the final design will look like. The front grill will be very similar to the SLS – big and upright. As far as the engine configuration goes, it will be available with both 6 and 8 cylinders, with around 450 to 500 bhp under the hood. An AMG version will of course follow… Continue Reading »

The current Mercedes-Benz S-Class has been around for last four years, so it’s only appropriate that Mercedes-Benz starts working on a new version. The new version, should be hitting showrooms in late 2012 or early 2013, depending on the market. We won’t know what it will look like until a year ahead of the launch, but we can speculate on what it will have inside. The rumors are that the new S-Class model will rely on turbocharging and direct injection to deliver power and efficiency. The AMG version will receive a twin-turbo charged 5.5 liter V8; this of course is all part of the well-known plan to have more powerful… Continue Reading »
Over the weekend, I had the pleasure to see the new 2010 E-Class Coupe on the road while driving around town (Bellevue, WA). I spotted the E350 a couple hundred feet away, mostly because of the very very bright LED taillights. I had only a few moments to get my phone out and snap a pic before he drove off. Does this sighting mean we are close to a showroom debut, well according to some, the first E-Class editions for sale are likely to arrive by the end of the month or early July, so we can safely assume the launch is imminent. This is probably one of the test vehicles for the… Continue Reading »
It’s been only a few weeks since Mercedes-Benz introduced the S350 and S400 Hybrid to the world, but one Benz fan has actually spotted a few right here in the States. He was kind enough to share these exclusive spy shots of the update S-Class with us and every other Benz fan – Thank you. We’re not sure if this is the 4Matic version, or the CDI BlueEFFICIENCY one (most likely the 4Matic), as it’s not visible on the spy shots. The S350 is powered by a 6 cylinder, 3.5 liter engine, producing 272hp. Given that we are already seeing shots of the new 2009 S-Class stateside, it save to… Continue Reading »
GlobalMotors’ spy photographers were able to capture pictures of the next-gen SLK while it tried to make a test run around the Nürburgring track. Before it was able to complete even one 21 km lap, it was pulled aside due to issues with the engine. White smoke is seen on some of the spy pictures, and the test driver had even a fire extinguisher in hand, not sure if it was used. While these things certainly happen in prototype cars, it is still interesting to actually see that in pictures. Rumors about the next-gen SLK are still sketchy, but some say that it will have LED daylights (very likely), bigger… Continue Reading »
Just two weeks ago, we showed you spy shots of a CLS test mule with heavy camo. The test team did a great job with hiding any kind of details on what will become the look of the 2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS; that of course didn’t stop the artist of the above computer illustration to speculate what it will look like. Let’s hope the actual design is simlar to the rendering because it looks fantastic. Head over to our friends at GlobalMotors.net to see additional images of the 2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS.
Fresh spy shots have been published over at AutoWeek, showing what appears to be an E63 with some light camo – not sure why that is still necessary. The E63 is set to debut at this years Frankfurt Auto Show in September. The engine will probably be a 6.3 liter V8 with approximately 525hp if not more. It’s being reported that Mercedes-Benz is getting rid of the brake-by-wire system known as SBC. The new E63′s conventional brakes will have disc-wiping capabilities and selective corner brake control. When it hits the streets sometime next year, it may even be equipped with ceramic breaks.
