Mercedes Benz CLS took the design gurus by storm when it hit the markets four years ago. The concept of a four door coupe radicalized the coupe design language and created a niche market for itself. However, with competition catching up, CLS has been put under axe. The old CLS was based on the bygone E- class platform. And now, since the new E-class has been launched globally, expect CLS to inherit everything from it. It is believed that the new CLS will share platform and chassis dynamics with the 2010 E-Class. And since it’s an AMG, expect great fireworks under the bonnet too. It is rumored that the updated… Continue Reading »

Spy cameras have caught the next generation mule of Mercedes-Benz SL class. An overhaul of the outgoing model is due in 2012. Though, the car is heavily disguised with cladding all over it, but it does give hints that future styling will be inspired by the design language of the F800 displayed by Mercedes at Detroit Auto Show this year. The same concept is believed to be a teaser for the highly anticipated new CLS. Other Mercedes Benz models too are expected to follow and take design cues from the F800, especially the large front grille and three-pointed star emblem. Spy pictures suggest that proportions of this new gen SL… Continue Reading »
Just a few days ago we posted spy shots of new Mercedes-Benz C-Class being tested, and now courtesy of AutoBlog, we are seeing the C-Class Estate in light camo. Just like with the sedan, the estate will get new LED headlights, new hood, bumper, front lights and grille. The spy photographer also noticed some interior changes, so stay tuned until the next round of spy shots for more details.
Still on stealth testing mode in the frigid Scandinavian weather, the next generation of Mercedes-Benz SL-Class will show an extended hood and a wider carriage. This wide look is mirrored in the tail lights, in its flattened form, stretched to appear broader, and in the lenses which now have nice rounded style elements rather than its usual level, horizontal design. Although the new SL prototype is heavily masked, the updates seem to have erect grilles, projector headlights, and exterior mirrors that has been repositioned. There are indications, too, that the interiors will be sporting a wider, GPS screen resting higher up on the dashboard. Benz watchers say this update is… Continue Reading »
Over the last few years, we’ve seen numerous spy shots of the 2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS, but this time, it’s a bit different. As you can see on the pictures, courtesy of Autoblog, the shape of the new CLS is slowly taking shape. The headlights along with the taillights are visible and give us an idea of what the final design will look like. The front grill will be very similar to the SLS – big and upright. As far as the engine configuration goes, it will be available with both 6 and 8 cylinders, with around 450 to 500 bhp under the hood. An AMG version will of course follow… Continue Reading »
The current Mercedes-Benz S-Class has been around for last four years, so it’s only appropriate that Mercedes-Benz starts working on a new version. The new version, should be hitting showrooms in late 2012 or early 2013, depending on the market. We won’t know what it will look like until a year ahead of the launch, but we can speculate on what it will have inside. The rumors are that the new S-Class model will rely on turbocharging and direct injection to deliver power and efficiency. The AMG version will receive a twin-turbo charged 5.5 liter V8; this of course is all part of the well-known plan to have more powerful… Continue Reading »
Over the weekend, I had the pleasure to see the new 2010 E-Class Coupe on the road while driving around town (Bellevue, WA). I spotted the E350 a couple hundred feet away, mostly because of the very very bright LED taillights. I had only a few moments to get my phone out and snap a pic before he drove off. Does this sighting mean we are close to a showroom debut, well according to some, the first E-Class editions for sale are likely to arrive by the end of the month or early July, so we can safely assume the launch is imminent. This is probably one of the test vehicles for the… Continue Reading »
