Mercedes-Benz will be showing a variety of exhibits on mobility and training, among them a framework model of the security body Mercedes-Benz C-Class, which will illustrate the safety passenger compartment of a modern car. Another exhibit is a rescue simulator based on the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, but undoubetdly, the star of the Mercedes exhibit will be the SLS AMG emergency vehicle, which will be finished in silver with SLS EMERGENCY lettering and blue light beams, topped off with the requisite light bar and the most modern communications technology. The standard SLS AMG is powered by a 6.3-liter V8 engine with an output of 563 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque. In an emergency, the SLS can leap to 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and rapidly reach the nearest medical facility with its top speed of 317 km/h.

The title of 2015 “Residual Value Giants” has been awarded to the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG super sports car, the CLS and the B-Class by Bahr & Fess Forecasts and Focus Online. The award recognizes these models to be the most resilient of all automotive units considered for the award in terms of resale value over the next four years.

Even in the upper mid-range segment, the CLS 350 CDI even at four years of use will still sell at more than half of its retail value – 54 percent to be exact. Meanwhile, the B-Class 180 CDI outperforms the rest of its competitors in the compact van segment by managing to retain up to 51.5 percent of its retail value. The SLS AMG, on the other hand, retains the highest resale value of all at 59 percent, thanks largely to the multitude of fans wanting to get their hands on the super sports car.

Joining these three models are the C 220 CDI station wagon (51 percent), the E-Class coupe (54 percent), the GLK 250 CDI (56 percent), and the E-Class Cabriolet whose resale value after four years remains at 56.5 percent.

Coming in 2nd in the luxury class segment is the S-Class 250 CDI, followed by the E 200 CDI which won in the upper midrange segment. The SLK 350 on the other hand ranked third overall in the sports cars division.

SOLS Gullstream by Fab Design

It’s no question that the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is one of the most beautiful supercars ever made, and its performance is no short of being superb. Still, there are a lot of critics from people who have been fortunate enough to drive it, saying that the SLS AMG has a lot more potential being restricted both electronically and mechanically. Enter Fab Design to tap into the SLS AMG’s hidden power. They call their version of the SLS AMG the SOLS Gullstream.

Kind of catchy, isn’t it? Well, its name is just a taste of things to come. What’s more important is what Fab Design did with the SLS AMG’s stock engine. From out of their workshop comes a modified 6.3-liter V8 that is now capable of putting out 615 horses plus 690 Nm of mind numbing torque. According to the tuning company, the new powerplant should easily be able to push the Gullstream from zero to 62 mph in just 3.6 seconds. Zero to 124 mph should take no more than 11 seconds tops. If you’re gutsy enough, you can accelerate up to 202 mph and happily cruise from there.

A bunch of cool mods have been put into play to make set the Gullstream unique from the stock SLS AMG. There’s the Koni coilover suspension system which has been adopted from the SLS GT3 race car, while a bunch of lightweight custom three-piece alloy rims have been slapped on to give the new suspension system more room to play.

That’s it, folks. It’s time to check out the gallery to see for yourself what this baby is made of.

Auto loan buyers are well aware and are looking forward to the 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK hitting showroom floors by June of this year. Meanwhile, experts in the used car market industry are already forecasting the resale value of the new SLK to remain steady for years to come thanks to the level of popularity that the model is expected to hold over buyers who are looking for used Mercedes for sale.

Unlike used BMW for sale, the SLK’s rejuvenated design and aggressive style will prove to be successful beyond what its predecessors have achieved. Critics are already writing about the SLK and comparing it to the SLS AMG supercar, thus heightening its already huge popularity. Not only that. As with any Mercedes-Benz model, the company is bringing forth an AMG variant of the SLK, thus ensuring satisfaction for AMG worshippers everywhere.

CAP Monitor editor Jeff Knight predicts that the SLK will retain up to 49.5 percent of its retail value right up to three years after its release. That’s more than a 10 percent difference compared to the current SLK which is now worth almost 39 percent of its retail value after the same period. A lot of its success shall likely be credited to its similarities to the much desired SLS AMG supercar.
