Mercedes To Enter Eight Cars At Silvretta Event

With stunning mountains as a backdrop, Mercedes will, for the fourth time, be joining the Silvretta Classic and E-Auto Rallye. Set in the Montafon valley in Austria, the event will be held from July 4-7. The Silvretta event is an Alpine rally which features stages that have uphill gradients of 17 percent and downhill sprints of up to 15 percent. Add to that the winding roads that are typical of mountain passes and you can see that only well-developed cars can tackle the course. The First All-Electric AMG : SLS AMG E-Cell

The in-house tuning division of Mercedes-Benz is now “cooking up” a new car. Well, actually just an improvement of what’s already in their line up, only now it is going to be all-electric. The SLS AMG E-Cell will be the first of its kind in AMG’s range of vehicles. By the middle of next year, people can start ordering it, late next year to early 2013 test drives and deliveries are scheduled. SLS AMG E-Cell Set for 2013 Release

Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that its all-electric supercar, the SLS AMG E-Cell, is going to be ready at dealerships waiting to be purchased by wealthy, environment-friendly connoisseurs sometime in 2013. No details have been revealed about pricing and exact dates, but the confirmation that the SLS AMG will legitimately be sold at dealerships should be enough for now. The 525 hp vehicle is powered by four rear-mounted electric motors, and it will require a mere 3.9 seconds to go from 0 to 62 mph. The thing is about electric cars is that not too many people appreciate them. Not unless you drive one will your  really be able to understand the real potential of a car powered by batteries.
