Are used cars really that much cheaper?

With the economy still not back to where it was some years ago, getting used cars for sale instead of a new one is a better alternative. Or not. An economist, Paul Ballew said that over half a million people who bought new cars were actually thinking of buying used ones. “There’s a substitution effect going on between new and used. Three Record-Breaking Sales Figures Achieved by Mercedes-Benz

Mercedes-Benz recently announced that the company has set three sales records. The first one, June 2011 being the highest June ever with a total of 120,510 vehicles sold globally. For Mercedes-Benz USA alone, the company delivered 22,653 cars, their highest in June as well. The second record, is the highest sales for the quarter as April and May were also great months. The quarter recorded an increase of 7.2% or a total of 329,979 cars. Mercedes-Benz May Sales Figure Breaks Records

Last month, Mercedes-Benz announced how glad they are about the sales performance of their vehicles. The company reported that they have sold more vehicles than ever before in May, with  a total of 108,766 passenger cars across the globe. The Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing Mercedes-Benz Cars, Dr. Joachim Schmidt said, “The upswing we’ve experienced in recent months continued in May with a new sales record. Daimler’s outlook for China pegged at 20% growth

Despite oil prices surging all over the world plus the absence of automotive incentives for car buyers, Daimler AG says that it still expects to perform well in China, predicting at least a 20 percent growth in the country. Daimler Northeast Asia Ltd. Chairman Ulrich Walker says during a press conference that their expected outlook is merely a “conservative” target. Walker adds that he’s not too worried that the market in China will be affected heavily by new government measures in persuading car buyers from purchasing new cars in order to help the worsening traffic situation in the country. Daimler posts strong Q1 ender in the US

Everyone has been waiting in anticipation for Daimler to post its performance in the US market, especially after its rivals BMW, Volkswagen and Audi have all spread word about their share of the American pie. Mercedes-Benz with double digit growth in February – 10.3%

In February, Mercedes-Benz continued the positive trend of the past several months, with sales rising by 10%. This was the 16th month in a row that sales grew at a double-digit rate. In total, 79,500 customers worldwide (February 2010: 72,100) purchased a passenger car from Mercedes-Benz. Since the beginning of the year, deliveries have therefore risen by 17 percent to 162,200 units (January-February 2010: 139,100). Mercedes-Benz USA Reports Significant Gains In Sales Figures

In news that must have brought broad smiles to the people of Mercedes-Benz USA, the company has reported significant upticks for sales figures for the month of February. MBUSA sold 16,167 units for the past month, which is a combined figure for all Mercedes-Benz and Maybach vehicles sold in the U.S. These figures include the Sprinter commercial van and Mercedes’ Certified Pre-Owned Program. Currently, MBUSA has 12 model lines for the U.S., ranging from the sporty C-Class, the luxury S-Class sedans and the SLS AMG supercar.
