In November 2020, the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series officially became the fastest production car on the Nurburgring Nordschleife with a time of 6:48.047 for the whole course, and 6:43.616 on its old 12.8-mile stretch. Recently, another attempt was made by the same car but with a different driver to break the record. Before the latest record attempt of the current Black Series, it was eclipsed by the Porsche 911 GT2 RS last month with a new record of 6:43.300 for a street-legal car on the 12.9-mile layout of the ‘Ring, which was quicker than the sports car’s best time. After the launch of the 2022 C-Class sedan and wagon, Mercedes-Benz immediately confirmed that the range will be ditching the V8 engines in favor of a high-performance 2.0-liter turbo four-pot. Despite the downgrade, new spy shots confirm that a Mercedes-AMG C63 is still in the works. The spy photos of Motor1 feature what looks like a wagon variant of the C-Class cruising down the road near Nurburgring. In 2018, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4-Door held the record as the fastest four-door production car to make a lap in Nurburgring. After it was overtaken by the 2021 Porsche Panamera this 2020, the high-performance car from the three-pointed star brand rebounded right away to reclaim its crown with its 2021 model year model. According to Mercedes, the 2021 AMG GT 63 S 4-Door covered the 12.8-mile-long North Loop of the circuit in only 7:23.009 minutes (excluding the straight-line measurement for track section T13). Last year, a prototype resembling the Mercedes-Benz GLB sport utility vehicle was spied while undergoing testing, but a sticker found on its windshield read “Electric”. That led us to believe that we might be looking at the Mercedes-Benz EQB electric vehicle. Recently, a new version of the prototype was spotted at Nurburgring. The auto was seen with lesser camouflage, which gives us a good view on most of its exterior.
