Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series Attempts to Break Its Own Record in the ‘Ring

In November 2020, the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series officially became the fastest production car on the Nurburgring Nordschleife with a time of 6:48.047 for the whole course, and 6:43.616 on its old 12.8-mile stretch. Recently, another attempt was made by the same car but with a different driver to break the record. Before the latest record attempt of the current Black Series, it was eclipsed by the Porsche 911 GT2 RS last month with a new record of 6:43.300 for a street-legal car on the 12.9-mile layout of the ‘Ring, which was quicker than the sports car’s best time. After the launch of the 2022 C-Class sedan and wagon, Mercedes-Benz immediately confirmed that the range will be ditching the V8 engines in favor of a high-performance 2.0-liter turbo four-pot. Despite the downgrade, new spy shots confirm that a Mercedes-AMG C63 is still in the works. The spy photos of Motor1 feature what looks like a wagon variant of the C-Class cruising down the road near Nurburgring. It may be covered in full zebra camouflage but the profile of the car is all too similar with the standard C-Class Benz shown earlier this year. The prototype noticeably carries a Panamericana front grille with vertical slats, which is the signature of… Continue Reading »

Mercedes-Benz EQB EV Takes a Spin at Nurburgring

Last year, a prototype resembling the Mercedes-Benz GLB sport utility vehicle was spied while undergoing testing, but a sticker found on its windshield read “Electric”. That led us to believe that we might be looking at the Mercedes-Benz EQB electric vehicle. Recently, a new version of the prototype was spotted at Nurburgring. The auto was seen with lesser camouflage, which gives us a good view on most of its exterior. At a glance, the vehicle looks like the regular GLB but a closer examination reveals that it is missing its exhaust pipes. The front grille of the SUV is hidden too. These things lead us to suspect that we might… Continue Reading »

Competition is tough right now in the coupe segment as the new BMW X6 is readying for a debut and the Porsche Cayenne Coupe, Range Rover Velar, and Audi Q8 join the party. Mercedes is a little late though, having introduced the GLE Coupe years after its archrival X6 surfaced. The all-new 2020 Mercedes GLE Coupe’s camouflaged prototype is still undergoing final testing, but it has recently been spotted sharing the Nurburgring with the new BMW X6. To intrigue customers away from the X6, which introduced this segment more than a decade ago, the GLE Coupe needs to improve its products and the equipment it will come with.
