Bauma 2013: Mercedes-Benz Premieres Arocs, Atego, and Citan

Mercedes-Benz was very active at the Bauma International Trade Fair in Munich, with three trucks making their premieres: the Arocs, Atego, and Citan. This marks the completion of the German automaker’s construction offerings, a full-range and custom-designed lineup that will provide solutions for practically any construction application. The 2013 edition marks the 30th year of the trade fair that focuses on machinery, vehicles, and other equipment for construction applications. Euro VI-compliant Mercedes-Benz Atego Truck Makes Debut

There’s a full nine months before the Euro VI emissions standards are imposed in Europe. This marks the conclusion of Mercedes-Benz Trucks’ initiative to get Euro VI-compliant trucks out into the market. With its new Medium Duty Engine Generation platform and Blue Efficiency Power technology, the Atego achieves total compliance with Euro VI regulations. The platform comes with SCR systems, diesel particulate filters, and exhaust gas recirculation. Aside from that tech, there’s also a freshly engineered interior for the trucks as well as an ESP system and automated transmissions. Daimler Buses and Trucks Won at the OkoGlobe 2011

Mercedes-Benz Tops Irish LGV Segment in 2010

Mercedes-Benz has once again topped Ireland’s large-goods vehicle segment, thanks to strong sales of various truck models. This marks the second year in a row where the German automaker’s heavy commercial vehicles stood on top of the market. The company was able to sell a total of 161 combined units of the Actros, Axor and Atego truck models in 2010, good enough to account for a 15.8-percent share of the market. For comparison, DAF Trucks took second with 147 units sold, good for 14.4 percent. Volvo was a distant third with a total of 118 units, equal to 11.6 percent.
