MBUSA growth track remains steady

Daimler AG is on a major roll in the US, now reporting a 3.1 percent growth for the month of October, selling 19,443 Mercedes-Benz and Smart vehicles. The breakdown includes 19,076 vehicles sold by MBUSA, while the rest being contributed by Smart. This total includes passenger cars, light trucks and Sprinter vans, and represents a 4.9% growth for October for MBUSA. Meanwhile, year-to-date growth stands at around 20.1%. Evidently from the figures, Mercedes-Benz’s passengers and light trucks sales are still very much on track. MBUSA scores 2nd best September sales record

As always, Mercedes-Benz and Smart parent-company Daimler AG brings good news with sales in the U.S. reaching 21,088 for the month of September this year. Compared to last year, this means an 18.5 percent increase, making September its best month so far in terms of units sold, putting the year-to-date figures ahead of last year’s numbers by 22 percent. In fact, September 2010 is the MBUSA’s 2nd best September on record, with 19,862 passenger cars, light trucks and 804 Sprinters sold. MBUSA donating two ML-Class SUVs to automotive technology students

Mercedes-Benz puts a premium on education, specifically automotive technology. That is why AT students at the Tuscaloosa Center for Technology, or TCT, will soon experience what it’s like to be working on cutting edge automotive technology. How is this possible? Through the generosity of Mercedes-Benz. The company is donating a pair of their high-end premium SUVs, namely a 2006 ML500 and a 2006 ML350, to TCT to help students of Automotive Technology better understand the workings of a world-class premium vehicle. New Mercedes-Benz Facility Launched In Florida

The North American branch of Mercedes-Benz made public that they have launched a new facility in Jacksonville, Florida, that incorporates several business units into a single building to be able to provide effective customer and dealer assistance. The new facility is built over a 415,000 sq. ft. of land and employs around 160 workers. The car manufacturer targets to have four business units working under one roof from July, this includes Sales Operations Southern Regional Office; Parts Distribution Center (PDC); Quality Evaluation Center (QEC); and Learning & Performance Center (LPC). New Regulations Will Lead to Greater Change Than Anytime in History

According to Mercedes-Benz USA executive, Sascha Simon, with the new greenhouse gas emissions standard put into law, the auto industry is now ready to go through a big transformation in the coming 10 years, even much larger than the changes it underwent in the last 50 years.
