The photos of the new Maybach 57S are out. The first ones since Daimler took over the company. The car was shown at the Geneva International Motor Show, however this new “image” of the vehicle is being marketed now. Take a look and marvel at the new shiny red Mayback 57S. It has been reported that Daimler will be announcing their decision on Maybach on July 1st, however it seems that it will be postponed until late July. Previously, reports said that there are only two options, to axe the brand or to get a partnership with the British carmaker Aston Martin. In an article from Automotive News, a third option emerges and according to three company sources the other option is to keep Maybach as a Mercedes-Benz brand, like AMG. Gary Paffett signed a new multi-year contract with Mercedes-Benz.The driver, who recorded a total of 17 wins from 73 starts, has been with Mercedes-Benz for 8 years. Despite the Mercedes-Benz division’s recent stellar performance, Daimler’s hyper luxury division remains in the doldrums, with the direction of the Maybach brand still uncertain. But for better or worse, it seems that the end of the month will see a definitive decision on the fate of the struggling marque. It is practically a given that individuals who have the money and status to afford a Maybach need protection in today’s climate. Recognizing this need, Daimler has announced the Maybach 62 Guard, an armored version of the ultra-luxury Maybach sedan. Part of the company’s press release states, “Comfort, individualization, luxury and a very high level of safety.
