Gran Turismo 5 Signature Edition gives you the chance to win an SLS AMG

Who isn’t a fan of Gran Turismo? Well here’s great news. The game manufacturer has finally released yet more news on the fifth edition, and there’s going to be at least three versions of it. Two Gullwings on the trail of the Carrera Panamericana in Mexico

The original winning car from the 3rd Carrera Panamericana Mexico in November 1952 is to return to the scene of its great triumph. The 300 SL racing sport car (W 194) will temporarily be removed from the “Races and Records” display at the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart, in order to join the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and set off once again along a part of the original route through Central America. Nevertheless, every pictures is unique and reveals more and more of the upcoming sports car. Additonal info about the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Gullwing

For the first time in the company’s history stretching back over 40 years, the Mercedes-Benz performance brand is presenting a vehicle developed in-house, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. An AMG 6.3-liter V8 front-mid engine will be developing 571 hp/420 kW peak output and dry sump lubrication, seven-speed dual-clutch transmission in a transaxle configuration and sports suspension with aluminium double wishbones. The ideal front/rear weight distribution of 48 to 52% and the vehicle’s low center of gravity. The newly developed, optional ceramic composite brakes with larger brake discs guarantee even better brake performance and lower unsprung masses. You don’t see this everyday – high resolution promo pictures of a test mule in heavy camo. Mercedes-Benz has decided to shell some light and release official details of their upcoming replacement to the SLR – the SLC Gullwing. Nope scratch that, it will actually be called the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. Mercedes-Benz Gullwing Spied in the California Desert

Richard Truesdell, from Automotive Traveler, has snapped some fresh spy shots of the SLR successor and future Mercedes-Benz Gullwing in the California Desert. The new super car, hailed to compete against the R8 and even the Italian super cars, is cloaked with enormous amounts of camo to conceal any details that may giveaway the final design. Like many have pointed out, the design on the test mule looks a lot like a Dodge Viper, but that’s of course not the point of a test vehicle, rather, it’s the internal parts that are important.
