The pictures of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 were captured at the Estoril circuit in Portugal. The supercar showed a wider body than the standard AMG GT variant. In a reminder of the marque’s past dominance in motorsport, Mercedes-Benz SLS GT3s took the first three places in the recently-concluded 24 Hours of Dubai. The race was held at the 5.39 km long circuit that also is used for F1 Grands Prix. The first place in this race was also the maiden victory for the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 in a 24-hour race. Second and third places were taken by HEICO Motorsport SLS GT3s, which had Mercedes DTM driver Bernd Schneider playing a supporting role as part of Mercedes’ customer support program. It’s really no surprise when a race car in its development phase doesn’t outperform its competitors during the first ever race of the season. However, the SLS AMG GT3 broke that rule when its team achieved a podium finish in the first leg of the GT3 series over the weekend. The Gullwing race car, ran by the Black Falcon team, scored third in the points system and finished first in the opening round of the VLN Nurburgring Endurance Championship.
