Daimler Awarded by IAHE for Fuel Cell Tech Contributions

We all know how committed Daimler is when it comes to fuel cell technology and other green endeavors. For being a pioneer and leader in the fuel cell field, the company was awarded the Sir William Grove Award 2012 by the International Association for Hydrogen Energy (IAHE). The award was given to the German automaker at the World Hydrogen Energy Conference, which was held in Toronto. Smart Pulse Slated for April Release

Mark your calendars, folks. The Smart Pulse, the dynamic variant of the highly-touted Smart ForTwo, is slated to be delivered to dealerships sometime in April of this year. This was announced by Daimler recently, and the company is now preparing the stage for the introduction of this latest Smart vehicle model. Merc Leads Way in Researching Vehicle-to-Grid Communications Technology

Mercedes-Benz is currently spearheading research that will make vehicle-to-grid communication possible, so that the technology can be made standard on future electric vehicles. This will help reduce the burden that EVs place on the power grid, and owners will have lower electricity bills also since they’ll be charging during the cheapest periods. Mercedes-Benz Greens Up Vance, Alabama Plant

Mercedes-Benz is making sure that the green attitude doesn’t stop with their various BlueEFFICIENCY products. The automaker is also improving its production facilities by making them greener and reducing their carbon footprint, and the latest plant to get the environment-friendly update is the one in Vance, Alabama. One of the newest furnishings in the plant includes roof-mounted solar panels for the Visitor Center as well as the Bill Taylor Institute, and the system should be operational soon.
