Daimler is Top Electric Car Seller in Germany for First Half 2013

In the first half of 2013, Daimler AG took the top spot in German in terms of electric cars, with electric-powered Mercedes-Benz models combining with smart brand sales to achieve a 42 percent overall market share. The pace-setting smart brand was responsible for 983 units registered during the aforementioned period. That alone accounts for a market share of 40 percent. New 2014 B-Class Electric Drive Makes its Way to the US Earlier

Daimler’s recent press release revealed that the 2014 Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive is going to be rolling in the U.S. highways by early next year. The new car makes its public debut at the International Auto Show in New York this week. B-Class Electric Drive To Be First Launched On American Shores

The latest news coming out of Mercedes is that the B-Class Electric Drive will be made available to the North American market before its sees dealer showrooms in Europe. Slated to be released in 2014, this variant will be classified as the W242, as opposed to W246 from which it was originally derived. B-Class To Make It To The U.S. In EV Version Only

Seen recently on the Mercedes stand at the 2012 Paris Motor Show was the Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric drive. This pure electric car is powered by a lithium-ion battery co-developed with Tesla. Range is touted to be 125 miles, with a top speed of 93 mph. Apparently, the Electric Drive will be the only version of the Mercedes-Benz B-Class that will be made available in America.
