Prior Design heats things up with the E-Class Coupe

Prior Design is one of those unique tuners out there which stand out by their tuning principle. That is, to keep things on the outside simple and make big things happen under the hood. With that said, here’s what Prior Design has been up to lately in its workshop – a souped version of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe. It’s a follow up to the tuning package the company released for the very same model back in December of 2010.

This time around, they’ve added a set of 20-inch matte gold wheels that just take the cake in terms of aggressiveness. With a stance lower than base form by 35mm, this creation just screams performance upon first sight especially with its new aerodynamic body kit. The exterior packaged consists of a stylized E63 front bumper, side skirts, a diffuser on its rear bumper, four tailpipes that are arranged in AMG fashion, and a trunk lid spoiler made of carbon fiber. Heck, you’d think this mule came straight from AMG’s workshop.

Here comes the juicy part. The engine has been tweaked to deliver a plus of 74 horsepower from stock configuration. Clients can even choose between the classic 4-tailpipe AMG arrangement or a single tail pipe on the left. Well, that’s if you’re street enough to go custom on a E-Class Coupe.

Mercedes will display 38 car models at the Beijing Auto Show later this month. Among those is the Mercedes-Benz, Maybach, Smart and AMG brand models. This includes three models of the new long-wheelbase Mercedes-Benz E-Class that will make their world debut, and three models of the F800 Style Concept, the SLS AMG supercar and the new E-Class Cabriolet that will make their Asia debut this time. The C-Class wagon, as China’s initial model, will also be unveiled at the Beijing show.

The CLS Shooting Break Concept Car

Just like we’ve reported yesterday, the all new CLS Shooting Break Concept Car will make its debut at the 2010 Beijing Motor Show. It’s codenamed the X218 and is currently dubbed a concept car, even though, all the characteristics of the car point to a production ready vehicle. The next-gen Mercedes-Benz CLS will also be shown at the Beijing Motor Show along side the Shooting Break. They will not only share a debut date, but also many if not all the current visual and technological parts.

The new long-wheelbase Mercedes-Benz E-Class model

The new long-wheelbase Mercedes-Benz E-Class, to be produced in China, is one of the Chinese consumers’ favorite models; some adjustments have been made to its body length and width as well as the wheelbase. In motive power, the Chinese-made new E-Class will be equipped with two engines which are the 1.8 liter turbocharged engine and the 3.0-liter naturally aspirated V6 engine. The corresponding models are the E200L, E260L and E300L, of which the first two use the same 1.8-liter turbocharged engines and are equipped with Mercedes-Benz’s BLUE EFFICIENCY technology.

Mercedes-Benz F800 Style Concept car

The avant-garde design of the F800 Style Concept car includes snake-eye headlights with air intake all around, trans-rear tail lights, fine radiator fins at the ventilation openings, side-by-side doors, edgy instrument and seats. In power systems, Mercedes-Benz has equipped the F800 with the plug-in hybrid and fuel cell. The former consists of the 3.5L V6 petrol engine and the 81kw motor, whose total power is expected to be over 400 hp and if driving in pure electric mode, could reach about 30 km. Benz has stated clearly that the system will be applied to the next generation Mercedes-Benz S-CLASS.

It will be a grand show in Beijing this April. And again Mercedes Benz is on top of it’s class.

Brabus creates an 800 hp monster from the E-Class Coupe

2010 brabus e v12 coupe 3 540x295 Brabus creates an 800 hp monster from the E Class Coupe
Well if you thought the Kicherer tuned E-Class Coupe is something, then you’ve obviously not seen the Brabus tuned Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe. The top Mercedes-Benz tuner raised the horsepower number to 800, yes you are reading that correct, it will be powered by a 6.3 liter Brabus SV12 R Biturbo V12 that pumps out 800 hp with 1,420 Nm of torque.

The basis for this engine is the twelve-cylinder twin-turbo engine from the latest Mercedes 600 models. Displacement of the engine is increased from 5.5 to 6.3 liters (336 to 384 cu. in.) with the help of a special crankshaft, larger cylinder bore and correspondingly larger pistons. Both three-valve cylinder heads are optimized for mixture flow, and fitted with sport camshafts.

Performance of the coupe is as exceptional as that of the four-door model: The BRABUS E V12 Coupe sprints from 0 – 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.7 seconds, to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 9.9 seconds, and reaches 300 km/h (186 mph) after a mere 23.9 seconds. For street-legal use the top speed of the Gran Tourismo is limited electronically to 350 km/h (217 mph). Without the limiter the two-door twelve-cylinder car is capable of speeds in excess of 370 km/h (230 mph).

The BRABUS designers went into the wind tunnel to develop a body conversion kit made from high-strength yet especially lightweight carbon fiber. The front was designed to reduce lift on the front axle and to provide all radiators of the V12 with an optimal supply of cooling air. Air outlets in the sides route the air quickly away from the heat exchangers. Another important design feature was to provide the front brakes with cooling air. Integrated LED daytime running lights further increase active safety.

E-Class Coupe will be capable of reaching speeds in excess of 370 km/h (230 mph) starting at 478,000 Euros MSRP.

Kicherer tunes the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe

The guys over at Kicherer, as somewhat lesser known tuner, have come out with a nicely tuned E-Class Coupe. The E500 Coupe was tuned to 424 bhp from the normal 383 bhp that Mercedes provided. Thanks to a new ECU and sports exhaust system, the new top speed was raised to 330 km/h, hinting that it might actually be able to reach that number.

Of course a new and more aerodynamic body kit was installed, all with custom front lip, side skirts, and rear diffusor made out of carbon fiber. Besides the body kit, custom tail pipes were installed, along with 20 inch rims.

Under the new label MercedesSport, Mercedes-Benz is presenting a portfolio of elegant and sporty individualisation products for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show. This MercedesSport portfolio includes specially designed light-alloy wheels, a sports suspension and mounted aerodynamic and styling components.

All MercedesSport products were developed by Mercedes-Benz Accessories GmbH in collaboration with the same designers and engineers who were responsible for the standard production models. As a result, everything appears to have been cast from a single mold. MercedesSport is initially available for the E-Class Saloon, Estate, Coupe and Cabriolet.
