Daimler Might Buy Aston Martin Sooner or Later

Daimler recently increased its stake with Aston Martin from 4 percent to 5 percent. The numbers may look like a very small figure for the parent company of Mercedes-Benz, but the extra cash would enable the British supercar brand to have more funds for its operations. The recent move of Daimler to buy more shares in Aston Martin fueled further speculations that it might be looking to buy the British carmaker sooner or later. Mercedes Retains Michael Schumacher as Ambassador

Mercedes-Benz confirmed that Michael Schumacher remains as its ambassador. The decision of the company came despite the current medical condition of the Formula One legend. It should be noted that Schumacher had an accident while skiing with his son at Meribel Ski Resort in the French Alps on December 29, 2013. The incident left him with a serious head injury, which led doctors to place him in a medically-induced coma. Daimler May Stop Making EV Batteries

In 2008, Daimler AG announced a joint venture with Evonik to produce Li-Tec batteries for electric vehicles. Fast-forward to the present, which is more than five years after the deal, the parent company of Mercedes-Benz is already contemplating on selling its Li-Tec battery cell plants in Germany. Aston Martin Planning to Make Luxury SUVs Using Mercedes Platform

There have been rumors circulating around the Internet that the collaboration of Aston Martin with Daimler will not only benefit the British brand’s supercars.
