Breaking News: New Mercedes-Benz SUV Set to be Released in 2015

According to news released just hours ago from various sources, Mercedes-Benz is planning to develop a new line of sport utility vehicle in its Alabama plant and it will probably be revealed in 2015. Dieter Zetsche confirmed the company’s plan during the recent shareholders meeting held this week in Stuttgart, Germany. Previously Mercedes-Benz officials have been teasing about the new model that they are planning to roll out from the U.S. plant in 2015. Offiicial: 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class Revealed

Mercedes-Benz revealed its latest addition to its family of cars last Sunday night at the Westin Book Cadillac Hotel according to Detroit Free Press. The 2014 CLA-class concept is aimed at younger buyers in the auto market. The new class is set to be on sale this coming fall and they are offering a lower price for it, as compared to the compact C-class that they are currently providing. Based on the report, the starting price is set $5,000 less than the lowest C-class car. This means, buyers can now own a Mercedes-Benz for around $30,000. Zetsche Not Yet Ready to Give Bernhard the Key to Mercedes Management

A report by Reuters said that Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche is not yet ready to give up the reigns to Wolfgang Bernhard. Right now, Zetsche heads Daimler and Mercedes-Benz and investors are waiting for him to hand over the keys to the management of the company. Investigation of Dr. Dieter Zetsche and Daimler’s Statement of Position

The Osnabrueck prosecutor announces the date for Dr. Zetsche’s investigation, it will be on September 19,2011. This is in line with complaint filed by a parent of the 27- year old test engineer who died on the Papenburg test track. The parents of the test driver said that the accident was due to the negligence of supervisory duties of the senior employees of Daimler. Mercedes US Plant’s $2B Expansion in the Works

Mercedes-Benz’ parent company, Daimler, said that it plans on upgrading and retooling the US plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama by investing $2 billion. This is in an effort to start production of the 2014 C-Class  and the R- and GL-Class. This statement was made in the middle of a head-to-head battle with BMW for the number one spot in the US’ luxury car segment. Daimler Investing Millions for Hydrogen Stations

Following the conclusion of F-Cell World Drive, Mercedes-Benz/Daimler confirmed that it is taking its partnership with The Linde Group to the next level as they build hydrogen fuel cell stations. Daimler will invest heavily on putting up F-Cell fueling stations. Reuters reported that the company has plans to invest millions of Euros for this project, which will be seen first in cities of Germany.
